What's wrong with adding a payment method?
iTunes does the same thing for free apps, get used to it
Everything that gives you a service requires a credit card
You mean those illegal services offer it for free?!??! OMGZZZ!
Yes yes, I use them too, but come on, just add your details, what are you afraid they are going to do?
Just install Google Opinion Rewards do the surveys to get some credit & you should be able to download without giving any banking details.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.and…
can take a while to build up though depending on your luck.
i haven't gotten any in the past few months, and the last couple i did get were those cheapskate ones you do for free :|
luckily i still have some of my kit-kat promo credit :)
If you are redeeming free stuff you probably only need 1 cent so even just doing one survey will be enough.
Having said that, I don't really see what the big deal about adding a payment method is. They aren't going to steal your money or something.
Also known for her role in Sister Act 2 ;)
That thing, that thing, that thing
guuuuurl, you know you bettah - watch out…. ;)
tell himmmmm it'll be alright be alright
good one. I have this on CD from back in the day.
Thanks, great album.
YES! i love this album!
But… yeah I'm not adding a payment method to google play, so I guess I'll miss out this time.
Do you buy anything online using chrome? They already know your card. Get over it. You still have to authorise any transaction.

Haven't got a survey in 3 months. Dafuq?
I hadn't got one in over 6 months but as soon as I spent $30 on an IAP for some free to play game suddenly i'm getting surveys every 2 days.
Upvote for time spent on the carefully researched and well written description
Yep, without it I'd have had no idea she released a solo album titled The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, I wonder where one might acquire said album?
Fantastic album and in my opinion, the greatest female hip-hop album created.
the greatest female hip-hop album created.
oh wow, did you just go there? :|
Uh yeah I did? It's a classic album? Unless you're alluding towards the female comment which isn't supposed to be sexist. It's just if I'm thinking of my top 5 albums of all time, this isn't one; nor any other female artist. So, in terms of top albums by a female hip-hop artist, this is it.
I agree, my favourite female hip-hop album to date.
How DARE you classify anything according to gender! …
This comment sounds like it is straight outta "High Fidelity"
its nothing to do with the "female" bit, im not even saying its not a classic album, i have it and it is a great album…. but its certainly NOT hip hop.
why is anything with any sort of beat called hip hop these days.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hip_hop
Hip hop or hip-hop is a cultural movement that formed during the late 1960s among African American and Latino American youths residing in the South Bronx in New York City.[2][3][4][5][6] It is characterized by four distinct elements, all of which represent the different manifestations of the culture: rap music (oral), turntablism or "DJing" (aural), b-boying (physical) and graffiti art (visual).
I take you point, but there is a fair bit of rapping on this album (rap music - oral), and lots of songs rely heavily on sampling (DJing - Aural).
I think your claim that the album is NOT hip-hop is far from definitive.
Go back to Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Miseducation_of_Lauryn_Hil… you'll see hip-hop referenced multiple times.
But it IS hip-hop! Have you even listened to the album? You're telling me there's absolutely no rapping on the album? This album was a huge influence to an abundance of artists like Ye and was pivotal to Christian rap.

if your talking about me, hell no. im not into pop music.
One of my favorite albums of all time. But i don't know if I would classify it as hip hop.
I think you're forgetting Lil Kim - Hardcore…
For hip hop i prefer this song.
Funny guy, jokes on you I know the last 3 letters off by heart!
so 2010
I am very excited to see her perform next month. Just Hope she doesn't flake. Last Year, she was supposed to come to Australia. She didn't make it on the plane.
The Fugees - The Score was My first ever CD purchase.
haha mine too, still got it
Mine too and me too :)
Thanks.
Thanks
This is probably the album I've listened to in life the most. If not, up there… top album, I already have it, but good deal.
Fugees - The Score is the one I've listened to the most.. (profanity) i miss music like this..
You hitting up soulfest?
And she will be here in October for Soulfest yusssss!
It's a pity she turned out to be a humongous nut job and a complete fraud. She ended up doing jail time and going bankrupt as well. Also, turns out she failed to credit an entire cast of people for this album who actually did all the writing, produced it and even did a chunk of the vocals that Lauryn Hill took the credit for. She had to settle in court with one of them alone for over 5 million. She vanished into obscurity years ago after it turned out she was lip-syncing live performances and her real voice was trash. She was a complete nut case and even wrongfully took both Wyclef Jean AND Pras Michel to court to try and claim they were her baby-daddies - despite neither of them being the father & proving it.
She eventually devolved into a full blown recluse who only posts nut job SJW comments and slogans on Tumblr now about how all the problems with the police and lawsuits she's had are "due to an obvious climate of hostility, false entitlement, manipulation, racial prejudice, sexism and ageism directed at me" (Not even kidding - http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/the-juice/482414/l…).
cocaines a hell of a drug
Might want to read up something more recent in regards to her that tries to also dispell some myths - http://www.spin.com/2015/07/nina-simone-tribute-album-lauryn…
She's clearly still quite respected by her peers…
You lost me when you used the term SJW unironically
Its definitely one album you need to own in you lifetime, I remember seeing her in Freo Arts Centre and it confirmed that she is truly an amazing artist/musician, she wasn't just a voice singing but controlled the whole set expertly, it is one gig that I will remember for the rest of my life!!
I have the most bizarre collection of music on Google Play now, because of all these random free deals…
The ozbargain playlist of albums you have for a rainy day.. In the same boat.. added to my list.
Great album - saves me copying across my CD
She is best known for being a bigger nutcase than Kanye
Thanks OP
Thank you.
OMFG… love this album… I even bought it on hipster vinyl!
I'll stay out of the shitstorm above. Nosdan appears to have been injured in a drive-by. Beef appears to have been mainly about money. Unusual.
Despite provisos in a comment I posted recently, he did still see fit to neg anyway. I didn't add any bullets to the carnage above, but maybe I'm not entirely unhappy about the injury sustained. :)
That aside, even nosdan couldn't deny that the following are Hip Hop.
It has been awhile / back in the day, since I attended a purely HH gig, which makes me sad, and feel old, but I am proud to have bought a number of cd's (and a few bits & pieces of vinyl) that did more than just 'feature' women, early on. The 'featuring' thing has tended to be the way (albeit a really, really, nice way) in Aussie Hip Hop.
For anybody above who might like to broaden their retro-hip-hop-horizons to, you know, Australia:
I had a major crush on A-Love Sweet-hearted angelbaby, she was, and bloody gorgeous! That's the only track on Youtube, sadly.
Here's a track from Layla from her Heretik album. The girl had flow. Evident on that track.
Language warning for the sensitive on those two tracks. I'm sensitive too, but we'll survive.
Slim pickings on Youtube. I went looking for 'Move' by Maya Jupiter (also a sweetheart / former long-time host of The Hip Hop Show on Triple J) and despite a pretty mainstream release (and clip), it's nowhere to be seen.
Some pretty lousy tracks from her since the move to America, but a sweet taste of 'before', two-thirds of the way into this otherwise crappy song with her husband, Aloe Blacc. (Yep, the 'I need a dollar' guy
Full circle. It all comes back to money, after all.
OzBargain, ain't 'OzHipHop', I suppose.
Or is it?
Get well soon, nosdan. ;)
Rapsody is holding the torch for female hip hop these days
Rapsody isn't quite to my taste, but still good and she does have some skills.
The track I was really hoping to find on Youtube was by 'Lioness' (not the American girl 'The Lioness').
I have her album. She probably only ever sold a couple of hundred copies. Maybe three. Maybe I'll sneakily upload it to Youtube at some point. Just too good to not be heard.
