DickSmith Click and Collect

Make order at 9:30am to collect at store near work.

Drop passed at lunch time to grab it… Told I can't collect the item even though he has plenty of stock as he hasn't been given my order yet.

Call the call centre and told it can take up to 24 hours for the system to tell the store I have paid for an item sitting on a shelf. Says he will organise for the order ready email to go out very soon.

Couple of hours later… Nothing.

Wtf is "the system" doing all day?

Very poorly run business… Won't be doing that again.

    ok

    • Just a warning for those that think in stock means they can get an item the same day.

What's your point? The email clearly states it usually takes 24 hours to receive an confirmation to collection.

    • What are they doing in that 24 hours?

DSE will try to hide all stocks at the back if the price is not right. Although you may see them now, but does not necessary mean they have to allocate the stock for you. That's it.

The online system isn't managed by DSE but by a third party. They will only pick stock when the see the message in their system.

Staff can't do anything without your order appearing on the POS.

my orders usually take 1 - 3 hrs to collect if i order around midday, i never waited more than that , this is watergardens and highpoints dicksmith

  • I did a click and collect on sunday night (fathers day special). Didn't receive a call on monday, call on tuesday to asked what happened, they said they were busy with alot of orders. I cut them some slack. Got a SMS/email on wednesday and picked up same day.

    Keep calm.

  • I've found click and collect very hit and miss (and store dependent). Average seems to be 1-2 days, longest I've waited was almost two weeks (that particular store took more than a week on both times that I've ordered from them)

  • Was this supposed to be greentext haha.

If you were going to collect it in 3 hours and there was plenty of stock, why didn't you just buy it at lunch time?

    • Your order will be ready for collection from your nominated store within 24 hours, subject to availability.

    • You will be contacted via email and or SMS once your product is ready to collect.

    See here

  • I ordered a remote control and waited over 2 weeks for a confirmation to pickup email, ended up doing a PayPal claim to get a refund.

  • If you can go in at lunch time to pick it up why not just buy it when you go in at lunch time lol Ring up and ask them to hold it for you. Jeebus.

  • 24 hours passed and nothing.

Called the call centre and cancelled the order.

A business model that bad does not deserve my $$$.

Same issue with George Street Dick Smith. Dropped by to ask if they had my order (was trying my luck), rudely told no chance, come back another time.
Top Ryde DS was a lot better, much faster (they're a lot more quiet though)

Dicksmith managed to send me a refund confirmation email in 1-2 hours.

Cant organise a confirmation email for an instock item that has already been paid for in 24+ hours….but will thankfully give me my money back quickly.

    what a **** business model.

Walked up to JB hifi and had them price match, walked out with the item, in a better colour anyway.
