    +1 OCD here ;)

*edit - can these labels be thin enough to use on cdrs or dvdrs?

    • +2

Last I heard you shouldn't put labels on DVDs because it unbalances them.

    • Yes, I use these on all my discs. Stumo, I paste them as close to the middle of the discs to limit any centrifugal forces that may affect the spin. Has never been an issue. Also, to maximize label use, you can use the smallest font as well as the double line options.

      • Ok cool. I found that using the smallest font didn't actually make the label length any smaller. But then I was only putting 2 words on it, maybe there is a minimum label length.

  • Haha, things are already getting labbeled! "Hunni, Do I really need reminding that its sugar?"

    Time to label the cat.

Dunno the point of these modern ones. Might as well use a laser printer.
The OLD mechanical Dymo labels with the raisied lettering were much better.
And I'll wager they were a lot more popular.

    • Just more convenient than using a printer.

    • These look far superior to the shabby old raised plastic and read much clearer too.

I'm unsure how you propose to stick something printed through a printer onto something, unless with sticky tape or buying a ream of those sticky labels then cutting them to size. Nether option is as presentable as the electronic Dymo one though.

Having said that, my limited uses for a Dymo, have and will continue to stop me from acquiring one, unless it comes in at about $10..

    • Yeah and I was looking at laser printer label sheets in OW (where I bought this model for $45 before xmas) and man, they were very expensive sheets of labels. So much so that I decided on the Dymo, and it is quick and easy to use.

  • if you wanna label two or three things as if you're gonna use a whole A4 laser printer page

these have their uses especially with kids or in schools or stuff like that

unfortunately i got one of these free from work

    • +1

      unfortunately you got one free??

  • Looks good… gotta remind myself of rule numero UNO with any kind of printer:
How expensive are the consumables (tapes)??
+1 for ye old school raised plastic Dymo..

  • +5

THIS CAN BE FOUND CHEAPER FOR $32 AT WOOLWORTHS- I confirmed this last night!

They also had $4 of the tapes for the dymo…

    Happy shopping everyone.

    • Even better… I do appologise! OCD heads, go to woolies!

      • +2

The Silver version is exclusive to OW and has a free tape (clear plastic) and a magnetic wall mount, so it is still better value.

        • +1

There is a pink version at office world, the GF liked this most!

    • Oops I revoked my +ve in light of this, but now I see that the OW one (which I already got before xmas) came with a handy magnetic mount (we keep ours on the fridge) and an extra tape. I just thought they all came with that stuff. So considering tapes are up to $10, I think the OW one is better than woolies.

  • the raised plastic ones where u had to punch each letter individually by urself was fun :D

  • +1

If i get one of these for my mum she'll think it's an EFTPOS terminal and try and swipe a card through it ;-)

  • I bought mine 2 years ago for about that price. I've never seen them sell for above $60, where'd you get "Considering it was $100 3 months ago" from? (My accounts too new to post a negative.)

    • +2

Can't see why you'd vote negative anyway.

      • -1

Cheaper at woolies, and the OP quoted a very high comparison price ($100) that is not correct.

        • +1

Woolies and OW are not the same "I see that the OW one (which I already got before xmas) came with a handy magnetic mount (we keep ours on the fridge) and an extra tape. I just thought they all came with that stuff. So considering tapes are up to $10, I think the OW one is better than woolies." The OW unit includes 2 bonus tape packs.

Though I agree the claimed saving is exaggerated it's still not a solid reason to vote negative. You just leave it in comments and the crowd will discuss it.

  • It didn't mention the model on the officework website, are they same item?

Just been to the store, they had the LetragTag labelers in a variety of colors, all for $34 . The LetragTag Silver has a PLUS on the packaging, which gives you extra tapes i presume.

  • I have this exact label maker and I think I paid about $40 for it a year ago at Kmart. I had been looking at them for a year prior (at $58.)
I have never ever seen them @ $100 (Considering it was $100 3 months ago absolute bargain!)
Good price if you are looking, but don't be fooled into thinking you are saving $65

  • +1

The difference between the Silver LetraTag PLUS with its other coloured varieties is the silver pack comes with two (paper white and clear plastic) label cassettes & a magnetic holder — whereas the coloured varieties only comes with just ONLY the paper white label cassette. Here is what's included in the silver pack: http://www.imgshack.info/images/9hge5p617fs0iw4yb03g.jpg

Batteries not included, by the way :P

The other model, LetraTag LT-100T is also discounted to $34.

    It's still a bargain considering Big W is selling them for $36.94 (Save $12.90) - http://catalogues.bigw.com.au/portal/offerdetails/dymo-qwert…

So that's basically how much you're saving. HTH!

Just Letratags are available at KMart for $32 and the tapes are on special too. The price tags say $39 in promotions on the display, but the items scan for $32(at least at Burwood VIC store). I bought a desktop model (LT 100 T). It came with one white tape. The same model is $34 at OW. I wish I knew that Silver ones have a magnetic holder and an extra tape. I would have bought the silver than (not fussed with colour, after all it is only a label printer).

At OW tapes and the printers are priced higher, so anyone interested could get a price match. Although may not be worth the effort, unless you are closer to OW than Kmart, or have other things to buy.

  • You need to change the price to $34, that's what the website link is displaying, as well as in store.

I see that OfficeWorks also have a Brother P-Touch for $32. Not sure exactly how this compares to the Dymo, it does come with some tape included. Just thought i'd mention it.
Comes in silver, blue, and pink.
    http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Lab…

It does have a larger tape width range, and has more type styles, has nearly double the characters and symbols. Comes with 5m starter tape compared with the Dymo's 2 x 4m starter tape.
Not as attractive as the Dymo i think, but might suit someone's needs better.

  • I think this is the direct link to the item on the office works website: http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Lab…

What the consumables that the labeller users? Is it this paper: http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Lab… ? Does it need ink?
