now is the time to go into most officeworks store's if your in the market for a laptop. Most of the laptops have dropped in price given the release of the Intel i3,i5 and i7 processors in feb, so head down now to grab a bargain.. If you head to parramatta store ask for shaun to help you get the best deal.

Great Find +1 for Adelaide stock (we always seem to miss out) - There are some great deals around on netbooks at the moment, I grabbed the Benq U121 posted on here a couple of weeks ago - I love it.

  • They also had the Thermaltake V9 PC case for $79 which I think its pretty cheap as well. Staticice shows $99 as being the cheapest.

  • Any vic stores with this deal?

Just rang up the local store near me and they didn't have it.

  • again some … Resolved using the edit button like I have with this comment. Thanks and welcome to the joy of posting let there be more ;-)

    • Although.. I've noticed that some ppl can be cruel :)

    • I think saying be gentle is for those on the site that are ogres. Either way edited

  • YMMV depending on stock levels at local OW stores.

Often, the clearance prices tend to be on the display stock (ie: take it as-is with full warranty).

I found the deals at my local Vic OW to be nothing special as their original sticker prices tend to be higher than what you would find online anyway.

Anyone had luck making an offer below the discounted price?

  • Any rumour to a replacement model for the mini 10 coming. This might explain everyone wanting to ditch them quick

Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas is on right now, and all the big-name manufacturers are showcasing their netbooks with Intels new Atom chipsets and CPUs (N450 CPU, as opposed to the current lines with N270/N280)

Buying a netbook right now with a N270/N280 at or near full retail price is just silly. Once the new ones actually hit, these old ones will be super cheap. There's no way I'd buy a netbook for over $400 at the moment. Unless I really wanted one now.

    • there is a new dell mini 10 out in the US already (1012 model), N450 pinetrail based

  • I posted the Dell Mini 10 when they had it for $399 and with Windows 7:

…did I miss something? Also, the 'bonus' software this comes with really means nothing, especially the McAfee free trial.

Yes yours is the bottom of the range model. 160gig hdd vs 250gig and no HDMI output and edge-to-edge PMMA screen that does 1366x768 on this one vs standard screen 1024x600 on the one you advertised. Not a whole lot a differance but enough to make it worth the extra $100 in some buyers eyes.

      • And do we know what OS this one has?

  • Didnt hang around to check, I might be going back after work to buy one so if I do ill update the post.
