I get mine from Banaban, they are based in SE qld but delivery was reasonable last time i used them.

    • yes, I got mine from them, too. http://stores.ebay.com.au/Nature-Pacific
Or, wait, till it's half price in the supermarkets (if you want to start off with a small quantity).

I also bought the 'Healthy Origins' 1.5kg from iherb. I decant into a smaller jar.

  • postage $12? mmm hate paying postage anywhere in Sydney?

The way I see it is it's cheaper than driving yourself

    Costco if you're a member.

  • mmm not a costco member :-( have thought about joining but it is more than 1 hour from me and I can not decide if the savings are worth it..

    • Go to any spice shop and you can by it in a 750ml bottle imported from Fiji

    • Agreed, Costco is significantly cheaper for this product. I live about 50 minutes drive to Costco, definitely worth the savings.

Copha, yes the stuff you make chocolate crackles with is hydronated coconut oil, in the butter section of the supermarket.

If you can find your local organic co op you can usually find coconut oil quite cheaply as its a popular item

  • The main point of buying good quality coconut oil is for the fatty acids.
You want to buy it fresh.
You do not want to get hydrogenated anything. Ever. Hydrogenation means one molecule away from being plastic.
    Copha is not good.
You can buy coconut oil in bulk, as it lasts 2 years.

      That doesn't make any sense.

I got mine from Coles or Woolies.

The Coles brand is very good and tastes good too (which a lot of other brands do not).

Its "Planet Food organic virgin coconut oil Unrefined" I found it in the health food section, 1 litre about $20

Don't expect a miracle….just another marketing hype imho

There are some brands from India and other Asian countries that smell like smoke, and I don't recommend those. Banaban (Fijian) seems like a good, clean brand.

If you want really good, virgin unadulterated coconut oil buy Niugini Organics brand. It comes from my home town Rabaul, in PNG. Btw - all coconut oil is organic as no fertilisers or pesticides are used on the trees. It's the way it's processed that counts - the stuff out of Sri Lanka etc is brought in in huge bulk containers and re-packaged - I wouldn't trust it.

    • Where can I buy this?

Most health food stores stock it. Just ask around.

you can buy from 'THOMAS DUX GROCER' or Woolies macro branded (organic) as well
