  • Can someone tell me what use it is to buy Disney Infinity 3.0 from an eStore since you need the portal (is that what it's called) plus the characters?

    • You can use previous infinity Bases and also characters I'm pretty sure
      check this article out http://www.forbes.com/sites/andyrobertson/2015/09/02/6-reaso…

      • Wow, that's awesome and confusing.

        At least it isn't like Skylanders where they change the portal every time.

        • yes, but you still need to buy at least the base characters, so still not seeing the point of discounting the software.. unless you buy now, then buy the characters later maybe

          @gizmomelb:

          Not everyone wants to play the star wars stuff and prefer to play in the new toybox where you can use any infinity figurine (my kids do this. we wasted plenty of $$ on playsets and they never use them….ever….) so this is actually a decent deal if Start Wars isn't your thing.

        • @shadowx: fair enough.. but isn't the whole point of Infinity 3.0 being in the Star Wars universe?

          EDIT: nope.. only 3 of the 6 playsets are Star Wars themed - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_Infinity_3.0

          The others are based on INSIDE OUT, one Marvel themed playset and one all in generic toybox playset.

          shadowX - I do see your point though, I bought the Infinity 2.0 box set (admittedly more because it was $10 and a cheap XMAS stuffer) but chose the set with Stitch and Merida as my daugther has no interested in Marvel universe (and those two characters are some of her favourites.. so I figured even just as action figures she will enjoy them).

          @gizmomelb:
          I'm pretty sure that Disney were releasing Infinity later this year as a standalone disc without any playsets as well (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Disney-Infinity-3-0-Software-Standal…), so those who have no interest in Star Wars but want the new Olaf, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Mulan, etc (eg. my kids) can still get into it.

          I'll wait for the dept stores to dump them all for half price straight after xmas before i buy any of this years stuff. I wish Disney would just make all my old playsets compatible with the 3.0 game instead of having to use the old disc.

  • Not seeing those prices for Rayman or Infnity now, expired?
