Has anyone (travel agents, airline revenue managers, financial experts, travellers, ozbargainers) noticed a correlation with a falling AUD and international airfares?
Just wondering because I'm getting married in Hawaii and the approx dates that everyone needs flights never go on sale - I've watched it for a while and the past 3 sales have had nothing (departing Sydney after Easter and before the NSW school holidays). Even with the latest Hawaii on sale post, the airfares were $830+. I'm hoping these dates will drop in price too though there must be some demand during this time.
Back when the dollar was low, I travelled and managed to get some good deals but wasn't sure if that would be the regular deals and discounts or if the airlines were hurting because there was a drop in people wanting to travel.
The biggest movement to flight prices is supply and demand. Usually just before or after a public holiday people will tend to take annual leave to celebrate or take advantage of any long weekends. So it looks like there could be some demand for the dates you want.
