50% OFF Pinball Arcade Seasons 1 & 2 on PSN (Cross Buy PS3/PSVITA or PS4)

20

This one is for the old school pinball fans and those that missed out on the recent free update glitch. Playstation Network has 50% off its season one and two table bundles for The Pinball Arcade. You will still need to buy the core game first. For the trophy hunters the pro upgrades disable trophies if used so you may as well get the normal bundle. This is the first time I recall seeing the season packs discounted. I luckily picked up the base game on discount a year or so ago. The cross buy between PS3 and Vita is the best deal as you get stereoscopic 3D with the PS3 and portability with the Vita plus double trophies as counts as separate consoles.

Pinball Arcade: Season 1 Bundle (Cross Buy PS3/PS Vita) $22.48 AU
Pinball Arcade: Season 1 Bundle Pro Upgrade (Cross Buy PS3/PS Vita) $29.98 AU
Pinball Arcade: Season 1 Bundle (PS4) $22.48 AU
Pinball Arcade: Season 1 Bundle Pro Upgrade (PS4) $29.98 AU

Pinball Arcade: Season Two Pass (Cross Buy PS3/PS Vita) $22.48 AU
Pinball Arcade: Season Two Pro Pass (Cross Buy PS3/PS Vita) $29.98 AU
Pinball Arcade: Season Two Pass (PS4) $22.48 AU
Pinball Arcade: Season Two Pro Pass (PS4) $29.98 AU

They download slightly different when purchased on the Playstation Network. All of season one tables will show up in your download list when purchased. All the season two tables will become Free when the season pass is purchased and you will have to download each table separately.

For a full list of tables in each season use the wiki page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pinball_Arcade

  • FYI the free update glitch was fixed up and they are no longer free even for people who had them free

    • I've still got them.

Just refuse/cancel the 1.182Gb update that tries to download each time the game is launched and again once you finish playing a table, or play the game offline and everything is still unlocked (just checked).

  • Pinball Arcade or Zen Pinball 2? any suggestion?

    • My understanding is PA is real retro pinball machines, ZP2 is modern not real machines.

      Correct me if im wrong

    • I enjoy them both. Pinball Arcade uses real world tables and physics so is more of a simulation. Zen Pinball 2 is fantasy tables. The tables in these season packs come down to $1.24 each for season one tables or $1.18 each for season two tables after purchasing the core game. Individually they are $7.55 each. At the end of the day if you like pinball go for whichever is cheaper per table as is the ozbargain way.

  • Zen Pinball is several times better than the bug-ridden, clunky-as Pinball Arcade - unless you want real world tables.

That update that caused the 'free' tables also caused all of my friends and my high scores to disappear, and I can't load the game now (disc version) without turning the internet off on the PS4, loading the game, then turning the internet back on.

It's amazing how quickly they patched a glitch that was costing them money, but they simply don't give a fig when an issue affects their customers (I know that I am not alone with this problem…)

Try the brilliant South Park tables on Zen Pinball, then go back to Pinball Arcade and you'll know which one you like best. :)
