  • I'm going to just go on a limb here and say these watches run on the same Miyota movements everyone else uses in their watches since they don't tell you on the site.

    • Confirmed re Miyota movements via FAQ section on website

      • Now I'm concerned about this:

        ARE MVMT WATCHES WATER RESISTANT?

Classic MVMT Watches have a water resistance of 3 ATM. Please avoid all contact with water, as water damage is not covered under warranty. The Chronos, however, can withstand a breif submersion under water (i.e. hand washing), but should not be taken swimming or bathing.

        • It is water resistant NOT water proof. Basically, you can't swim with it. Shit specs watches IMO.

        • lol what this shit is this

          3 ATM = 30 metres

then goes on to say its not in the least water resistant

sub $50 casios citizens and other famous brands can do it but not this no name

        • @tonyjzx: I think they mean you can wash your hands with them but just don't shower or go swimming with it on. Common sense stuff

        • +2

          @tonyjzx:
You shouldn't swim with any 3atm rated watch, regardless of brand. You need at least 5atm in order to do that.

I have an MVMT, its currently my main watch.

Pros: Very nice, big watch face with no scratches yet! And a really nice leather band. It's also very comfortable.

Cons: I wouldn't say its the most accurate watch, I've had to reset the time by a few minutes every few months.

So would you say it is failing at its primary purpose? I.E accurately telling the time?

      • Haha it's not that bad, I'd say it occasionally loses a minute or two at most. I have watches right next to it with good movements and it only takes a couple of seconds to fix it up. But if you really want good accuracy, probably don't get this watch.

you sure it's not simply that you are getting to places quicker ohhidayo?

@cornbeef: Could be a glitch in the matrix.

        • @ilikeit: Definitely a glitch.

    • which model/colour did you buy? i am struggling to decide which one to get haha

I bought the original white/silver face with tan band. It easily goes with most of my clothes. At the time when I got it they were still relatively new and only had a few watches, but now I really like their new black/tan chrono watch with blue dials! Check out that one too :)

Edit: Also note that even though I got the tan leather version, in real life the colouring looks more like the Sandstorm band than the Tan one, its a bit misleading.

Pretty crappy, cheapish 'fashion' quartz watch. Miyota is actually Citizen, so it should be reliable, but it's still a quartz… I certainly wouldn't get the black plating as it will wear very fast at this price point (especially the metal band) and you will be left with a very cheap looking watch. Also, the crystal is mineral, so if it scratches (as mineral will) or breaks - no replacement. IMO the date wheel on the black face should be black, not white.

  • some of the watches are okayish looking but that big ugly MVMT logo ruins them… also it looks weird positioned so high up on the watch face compared to nearly every other brand out there

I've seen these in person, look nice from afar, but would never spend $100+ on one. Sorry, but think I'm going to buy a retro stainless steel Casio Calculator or Telememo watch which also features 50m WR.

    • yeah you can tell from the pics that these would look really cheap in person

The designs are modern with current fashion, but can't see them lasting long. I think someone else already said it doesn't keep time properly anymore…
