Wow. Fantastic prices once again. Thank you :)

  • Hey - poor old Adelaide gets ripped this time.
Closer than Perth but $9 dearer.
Great prices but the exchange rate… ouch.

    • +2

agree i wish it was 1 AUD = .90 USD forever

      • +13

i wish it was 1 AUD = 1.10 USD forever

I miss those golden days,Amazon was my catchoftheday

        • i guess but i'm thinking realistic =p

    • +8

      It's $9. I'm pretty sure they'll live.

Just saw LAX is via BRIS from Adel … which isnt bad … i live in Adl so think its a sweet deal …

  • Ok…this is probably normal so please tell me if it is…

When I book a return trip from BNE-LAX, the return leg (from LAX to BNE) is around $450. If I just want to book the return leg by itself, it jumps to $1100?

    • +2

      Normal

    • Normal. Business and people who really need to fly normally book one way so no discounts. Holiday makers book return flights and that's who the sale is targeted at…

  • Delta looks to be having a sale too but for a little bit more.

  • Finally I was able to buy a one way ticket for $540 :)

  • I've been looking at IWTF and SkyScanner for a few weeks but never actually attempted to follow through until this deal. When I select the tickets, which of the websites are trustworthy? Sites like TravelGenio, BYOJet, Zuji, etc. I've Google'd for some reviews but they're slightly unsettling, what's OzBargain's take on them?

    • Did you try direct with VA?

      • +1

Yeah, ended up just trying direct VA and played around with some dates. Booked directly for about $1027 return from Perth. Just checked IWTF and SkyScanner for those dates and JetAbroad are offering the same travel dates for literally the price OP listed ($973). JetAbroad seem super reputable too…damn it. Roughly $50 per ticket down the drain, I don't feel like an OzBargainer.

        • I cant speak for JetAbroad but a lot of the exotic booking websites quote their prices without a few hidden fees so I wouldnt feel too cheated.

        • +3

Lots of people would pay the $50 because if there are any issues, it's normally much easier to sort out if you've booked direct

        • +3

Think of that $50/ticket as an investment in your peace of mind. I'd pay that premium to book direct, because if the sh!t hits the fan with your booking (changes, cancellations etc), fees and charges with ticket re-sellers like jetabroad etc can be exorbitant.

  • Has anyone booked with Bestjet.com before? Would you recommend?

  • +1

Cant seem to find reasonable prices on these flights in December, despite the promotion above.

  • +1

LOL my sister just landed in LA this morning.. she'd be kicking herself at those prices whichis 1/2 what she paid

  • +1

Can't find anything under $1734 Melb -LAX return. No special prices here!

Not all travel dates in Oct/Nov/Dec have the cheap prices, but there are definitely plenty.

    • Ditto, nothing for the dates I want either (16/09 to 02/10).

  • When does this sale end? Also wondering if BestJet is safe to book with.

  • +2

Yes I retract my previous post - I was searching for two people hence the price was double. Thanks!

  • Great deals. How long will they be available?

  • Am I doing something wrong? When I click through to Zuji, it listed the return price as $845 (Dates Nov 1 - Nov 21) but the next page the price jumps to $875

    • found this too.
Edit: beat me, the default setting is in AUD

    • hi travelgirl,

I just went through the purchase process with Zuji, and the price stayed on 844.76 throughout.
      http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/102330/33071/zuji.jpg

Can you post some more details (or send me a PM) and I will check it out.

      • Hey IWantThatFlight,

For Delta Airlines it stays at $844.76 but for Virgin it bumps up to $874.16 (I was trying Nov 1-22 and other dates).

        Cheers.

  • Anything for 2016?

    • 2nd that, July 2016 and on to NYC

    • I'm waiting for 2016 flights too

      • There's some cheap return flights to Hawaii on Jetstar atm. You can fly onwards to mainland USA on Allegiant if you want a budget fare.

  • LA airport is horrendous. Anything to SF or NYC?..

    • Whats wrong with it? Ive been at LAX every year for the last 6 or so, and since the renos are almost finished this year it was a great place to be at

      • +1

Lolwut, you haven't been there have you?

  • Can anyone help, I am looking at flights for November around the 22nd to LA returning on the 30th.

the return has to be the 30th but I can leave before or after the 22nd, even when I put in dates provided above, I cant get a good deal
