Ah the smell of a freshly printed manual…something Steam cant give me…
If you've seen the manual of games recently, new games can't give it to you either.
"This is what a controller looks like. Here is how you use the online. Here's a Eula." Instruction booklet finished.
Even Nintendo does it. "The online manual is found when the game is put in. Okay. What're you reading this for?". Ah, my brand new instruction sheet… ;_;
We still get some manuals with games, didn't TW3 have one? Pretty sure Fallout 4 will also. I'll be disappoint if it doesn't.
I bought the Witcher 3 digitally ;_; But yes, sometimes games do it, but games coming from the big publishers assume we have better things to do than read how to play the game, what the story is about, and the characters.
And that Birdo is a guy.
There's one fantastic exception…
Super Mario Maker to come packaged with booklet of design ideas
i purchased a game like this years ago over the counter, knew the guys working their at the time so i was too fused also with a EB receipt i wa covered just in case.
was brand new but also have purchased some pre owned stuff which comes in an EB generic case with game and stuff inside….
I did this too. I bought Stranglehold this way. When it arrived, the case was damaged, cover was faded, disk was scratched, instruction booklet missing.
I take good care of my games, so I promptly took this back.
Same with me, I bought that PS3 game (think it was a Sega one) where you used a guy in a mech suit, was it Vanguard? Anyway it was faded and bashed with new booklet and disc.
Vanquish. Platinum games shooter. Pew pew, take that, Space Russia!
This thread is quickly turning into "Don't use EB Pre-owned online service"
Normally, when buying from the store, you get a pretty good copy of all three: Box, Manual and Disk.
That's right I had vice city also purchased pre owned and the umd case feel apart and they claimed it was brand new but I called BS and they took it and game new my refund.
They played the you kids not treating the game right and yeh not so much a punk kid…. Not really young these days and I've still got my computer collection of games and consoles I bought over the decades still all playable
I've bought a few rare preowned games from the website and about 50% off the time they are either missing the manual and/or come in a generic cover. The ones that were more than $15 i've just returned to the store for a full refund (except for postage).
Not very impressed, I wouldn't recommend the website unless you don't care what kind of condition the game is in.
i've bought a few games instore from them and yeah sometimes you only get a generic box and no manuals
i'm cool with that if its a cheap sub $10 game and you know what you're getting and lets face it, who reads manuals and if you want the picture cover you can print it on a colour printer
but yeah, if you're paying $40 or something and the web image gives you the impression you're getting a preowned by VG condition title thats something else
all of the games I've purchased from eb preowned have never come with covers/manuals.
it really ticks me off that you can't even confirm with the cs over the phone what condition is the stock when ordering. Returning it you loss out on the postage costs if you not happy with the product.
Did you by any chance purchased a used or preowned game? If so then those can be hit and miss. Some are in original packaging with manuals. Others in generic cases with or without manuals.
