So basically money isn't an issue, I'm looking at getting a Geforce Gtx 980ti graphics card but I am struggling to decide which one to get.
I'm undecided between these two:
-Asus GeForce GTX 980 Ti STRIX DirectCU III Gaming OC 6GB Video Card
-EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Superclocked+ ACX 2.0+ 6GB Video Card
I have no idea what the difference is between all the 980 ti graphic cards, so any advice is much appreciated. If it helps this is the build I currently am putting together.
- Samsung 250GB SSD 850 EVO
- Gigabyte Z97M-D3H Z97,LGA1150,4DDR3-1600,RAID,PCIE3.0,SATA6Gb,REALTEK 8111F-VL GbE,USB3.0,HDMI,DVI-D
- Intel Core i7 4790K Quad Core LGA 1150 4.0GHz Unlocked CPU Processor
- eVGA 220-G2-0750-XR 750W G2 80+ Gold Full Modular Power Supply
- Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 CMY16GX3M2A1600C9R 1600MHz Dimm, Unbuffered, 9-9-9-24, Vengeance Pro Red H
- NZXT H440 Mid Tower Case - Red/Black CA-H440W-M1
- TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 - 450Mbps Wireless N Dual Band PCI Express Adapter
- Western Digital RED Pro NAS WD3001FFSX 3TB 64M SATA 6GB/s x 2 for RAID 1
Manufacturers (ASUS/EVGA/Gigabyte etc) like to use their own coolers as they are normally better than the stock cooler and there are also differences in clock speeds. Just had a quick look and it seemed that out of the two cards you listed, the ASUS one was slightly faster. You can of course overclock the cards yourself even more but those speeds will have been tested to be stable.
Any reason you're going for a NAS drive? Not super knowledgeable about HDDs but WD Green and Black I believe are generally considered normal usage. Green is more value based (more GB per dollar) whereas the Black is more about performance.
