That's not the case, at least for me. Only Premium is 50% off.
I recently bought the Standard for 50% off but really wishing I splurged for Premium now, so few MP games showing up that accommodate Std version only.

Pretty sure Origin offers a full refund within 7 days. Just refund it and rebuy it.
I think it either within a day when you first played or within a week of buying which ever is earlier.. I think that's what read the other day.
Didn't need to. I asked them nicely and they refund me half of the entire purchase (Premium + extra battlepacks). Gotta love that.

how long will this shooter be relevant for is it worth buying now?
no one knows but it's still got a strong PC online presence. For $25 you should get it, otherwise it's not worth paying $50+
I feel like buying this just for the UCAV. I hate how people with the expansions can use equipment like the UCAV in the original BF4 servers.
