Need Direction to Find Best Gaming Laptop for under $1500 for My Needs

Update: Thank you everyone for your help, I'll probably just by a cheap laptop and build or by a gaming pc later on .
Hello. I am looking for a gaming laptop that will serve as primary pc for Under $1500 altogether.
To save you the trouble, i am aware gaming pc's are much better and cheaper but i cannot go down that road, because i need laptop for uni.

The laptop needs to be able to:
screen size from 13 to 15.6 inches
-play games with at least 60 fps on high with all games, Battlefield, LOL and any other games.
- It doesnt have to be lightweight, in being very thin and light but rather, would prefer the lighter one of comparable laptops. Its just that i dont want to carry a very bulky and heavy laptop to uni everyday.
- a decent SSD (I hear its a must)

Also note, im primarily console gamer with PS4, Im more than happy with gaming on PS4 for AAA games. But would like to also be to play games only on pc and just cheap steam sales. With hopes of joining the PC elite. lol.

Would also prefer for me not to buy SSD or other parts to upgrade because i have never done it. However, if I have to i will.

Ask anything that could affect your recommendation.
Thanks in advance.

The laptop needs to be able to:
-play games with at least 60 fps on high with all games, Battlefield, LOL and any other games.
    - be portable and fairly light as will be taking it to uni everyday to use word and read pdf and general browsing
    - battery life is important

Pick 1 of those 3 options, and you'll be able to find a gaming laptop.

    • I understand where you're coming from. It doesnt have to be lightweight, in being very thin and light but rather, would prefer the lighter one of comparable laptops. Its just that i dont want to carry a very bulky and heavy laptop to uni everyday.

    • Disagree- look at the P650SE. I reviewed one months ago and haven't been able to let it go. Will be selling it now tho.

2.4kgs, 970M GTX, 5hr battery. Also have a 'portable' charger for when not gaming.

      PM me if interested

Not sure why you would wanna bring a $ 1500 gaming laptop around cuz pretty sure portable & gaming laptop don't fall into same basket, same with good battery life…

I haven't played games for few years and not up to date on the gaming circle. With all of the new consoles coming out, does it still make sense to play games on PC? Is it worth spending thousands on a gaming laptop when you can buy an excellent console for a fraction of the price?

The current gen gaming consoles haven't improved much compared to the last gen consoles (at least so I've heard). Also, there are boons that comes with PC gaming, such as being able to take it apart and replace parts with better ones or being able to use it for other purposes. Not to mention the mods you could install for your games. I think current gen gaming consoles are better than PC in one regard, which is, they have exclusive games.

That said, I have nothing against console gamers (I've never thought of the Console vs PC argument seriously, whatever floats your boat).

I personally think you'd be better off getting two for seperate purpose, one PC for gaming and one laptop for portability.
$500 gets you a laptop that's light and portable. $1,000 would probably get you a PC at a reasonable spec that'd be better than a gaming laptop at $1,500.

Gaming laptops shouldn't be light and thin in my opinion because it would have less space to dissipate heat with. I personally have used laptops that failed in that regards (the laptop was unusable at 6 months mark and plastic parts broke off because of the heat damage). So it's better to look for a light laptop for basic purposes in my opinion.

"Best Gaming Laptop" - said no one ever.

If you're looking for a laptop for uni you should really be looking for portability and battery, not whether you can game on it. You're better off getting a cheap laptop for uni which can do the basics such as word processing/browsing and save up for a gaming pc.

Agreed get a macbook or better yet a surface pro 3 for uni. Otherwise get one of those 250 intel N series processor laptops for around 250 when on sale plus have a gaming desktop for home use.
