Ok,

So I've seen this on catchoftheday a few times but I keep missing it (Bugger!)
But I've found it being sold by City Software.
Also city software are offering free shipping on any items over $200 and under 5kg (including this)
so it works out to be even cheaper than catch of the day.

yay !!

  • omg i just bought the tvix media player from cotd! i so would of payed the extra and got this! cause ill be getting a 320gb 2.5 drive for the tvix which makes it a total of just over $160. so just another $150 for this :(

any idea if i can ask for refund before they dispatch?

  • Analogue Video Recorder - does this mean I can record foxtel?

  • After reading the manual of the Astone, I'm happy to have bought the Tvix for sure.

  • yep was just about to say that! only reason i was worried was cause i thought it was a dual tuner! im all good now lol

    • No worries, I also bought the Tvix and for a moment I got worried about this deal but now i feel better :)

  • Hey all, kinda new to media players. Can this play all kinds of video format? Most of my vids are .avi files. Also, how would you burn or copy movies from dvds onto this hard drive in order to play them on the tv? Thanks!

  • I believe the Tvix at COTD is PVR 2230 model which does not support H.264, MKV and WMV formats.

    • Spot on, doesnt support those modes, I have one.

      • Maybe we can create an iso from the mkv and try to play it.

  • Guys and girls before you even consider buying the 360T, you should have a look at http://forums.astone.com.au and lookup the many unhappy customers of not only the COTD 360T units but the rest of the ASTONE shipment. You'll also notice in the forum and request by ASTONE to return 360T units back to their depots around Australia for replacement.

If you did your due diligence then you'll have more sense to avoid the ASTONE 360T as a PVR. As a media player, the 360T does play many formats but then you have to deal with a media UI which is very ancient. Don't expect a XBMC, Windows Media Player or Mythbuntu sort of interface.

And just before you say how I know this, I've purchased one of these units and I should have saved my money and built a proper media centre using a PC instead. Anyway. Live and learn.

  • Yeah I bought one of the cord units as a OCR
it's crap, this unit is bug ridden. As a media player
it's ok but for that price I could have bought
a cheaper player with better ui

  • I purchased one of this unit from City softare 3 weeks ago and have no issues (I haven't tried the HDMI connection yet).
