I've never used Uber before, but just wondering if it is possible to get picked up by a Uber driver when I arrive in Sydney airport? How do you know who the Uber driver is, and where do they pick you up?

I don't get in to Sydney airport until fairly late at night ~11pm. Staying at Parramatta. Not sure if I could be bothered with public transport at that time of the night. Do the trains even run that late?
trains do run that late but it'll take approximately around an hour by public transport. I would think a cab should take around 40~50mins as well. If you don't have much luggage, public transport might be better.
No different than getting a mate to pick you up, arrivals, you tell them where you are. Uber app will give you the driver details, rego and such….I think anyway I haven't actually been picked up from the airport, just dropped off, I can't imagine it being any different that any other pick up.
For some airports the app doesn't let you set the pick up point at the airport terminal so just move it to a road close by and then call the driver once you get their details.
That's good to know, thanks.
I believe uber is not allowed in Airports legally because of the Airport surcharge… Taxis pay it, so it would be unfair competition!
I was picked up by UberX from Perth International - no probs.
Just stood out the front and looked like a mate was picking up.You just book it and maybe text or call to say where youre waiting - just like you would for a mate picking you up
Black in Sydney picks up from Limo parking.
Is Uber black the "premium" version? Still cheaper than taxi?
About the same price, nicer cars, cheaper with promo
Uber Black, yes. The same way as a normal hire car.
Is where you are going near a train station? I'd just catch the train if convenient.
