The sony is $420 after discount…
Are you going to shoot 4k? Silver is a better buy overall if you don't need 4k. You're trading battery life, lcd screen and ~$100 for 4k @30p
Sony has image stabilisation which works wonders at the cost of some quality. Wider lense causes a hell lot more barrel distortion though, not as much FOV options as the gopro.

Recording 2.7K at 60FPS is also another great feature the Silver doesn't have.
But the Black shoots in twice the frame rate as the Silver version. Wouldn't that be a huge benefit, even if shooting in 1080p?

Worse than silver, but no case for waterproof casing (waterproof without it)
