BenQ 32 Inch 4K IPS Monitor $1120.72 Delivered @ Kogan (eBay)

100
CTREAT20

Model: BL3201PT and link to manufacturer website

Been waiting for a good deal for this monitor for ages. Melbourne stock apparently. Possibly more discount with cashrewards (not too sure if the 2% applies to the original price or price after discount, so expect ~22 to 28 from cashrewards)

Cheapest now is $1299 according to staticice
Cheapest I've seen is the 10% monitor deal from MSY almost half a year ago, which was $1169.1

Fairly good review according to amazon

  • Wouldn't this attract GST upon entry as it's over the $1000 threshold? Or does Kogan fudge the value of items to avoid GST? :o

    • Well the eBay link says its Melbourne stock. I assume it's been included already.

      • Woops my bad. Description says official Australian stock…

        Carry on folks. :P

    We're getting there. I'm patiently awaiting a 40" curved 4K IPS.

    • Curved on 16:9… i dunno

      • Definately. I have a triple screen setup, so my edge monitors are turned in. I run it in 3x portrait mode.
If it was all one flat panel, I dont think you'd even use the edges of your desktop.

    • likewise 110ppi is golden

  • So do I click on buy it now on ebay and then apply the code? As it is currently $1400 on ebay.com.au

    • Yes, and on the last page before you are taken to PayPal, you can enter the voucher to get the discount.

  • How does this monitor compare to other 4K ones? It's more than double of the price of AOC and Samsung ones from MSY. Just wondering what are the selling features of this one.

      Size and IPS.
I have the this BenQ monitor and the Samsung 4k 28". The Samsung, whilst good value, has a TN panel and you definitely see the colours shift as you move your head around - this is something mostly avoided with IPS panels.

I find the Samsung gives me much more eye fatigue than the BenQ as well.

The lower price TN panels (and some of the smaller IPS panels) can still be great though - its just down to what you need/want.

      • Pretty much, one of the cheapest 4k, 32 inch and IPS monitor I can find

edit: an alternative is the BL3200PT, which is a VA panel, still 32 inch and 4k. normal price around $799

          Careful - BL3200PT is 1440p, not 4k!

        • @Cair22:

          oops, you are right

      • What graphics card(s) are you using to drive those two 4k monitors?
The only reason why I haven't upgraded to 4k is because only the high end GPUs like the GTX 980, R9 290/390 and 980Ti are capable of gaming at 4k comfortably.

        • Macbook Pro Retina 15 - so, it uses a combination of the Intel Iris Pro and Nvidia GeForce GT750M (I assume mostly, if not exclusively, the GT 750M - when running these).
No gaming for me so wouldn't be able to offer any insight into that.

Video editing and playback works quite well though.

        • @drmac:

Oh god. Triple AAA games would not be able to run with those GPUs. XD
Nice to know it works well for video editing, though.

  • Brilliant monitor. I've got it running on a late 2014 Macbook Pro 15 and works a treat - runs comfortably at 60hz.

It is used mostly for development and at this size I just run it at full res without Mac OS's retina scaling. Lots of windows open and great for reference and debugging consoles etc..

Colour accuracy seems great and colour/brightness uniformity seems good too (there was issues with the very early models from late last year - but seems to be fixed now).

I bought at $1299 from Scorptec and price doesn't seem to move very much.

Would highly recommend for anyone needing the screen space and IPS improved angles/accuracy.

  • Does anyone know if this will work well with a rMBP, mid-2012? Thanks

    • +1

It will on the 15" but only at 30hz - which isn't nice - mouse feels really laggy/jumpy.

      • OK, I'll pass. Thank you for letting me know. And perfect username for the situation!

          Cheers!
Best bet is going for a nice 2560x1440 QHD IPS which you'll be able to drive with no issues at all.
