Fake MicroSD Cards

I am looking to buy a microsd card, but have read on the internet that the market has been flooded with fake microsd cards. For example:

http://www.ebay.com.au/gds/Detecting-fake-and-bad-microSD-ca…
http://community.ebay.com/t5/Computers-Networking-I-T/Beware…
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/accessories/fake-sam…

Can someone please recommend me a reputable retailer I can buy from so I don't end up with a fake card ?

Thank You.

    dont worry.
just search this ozb, this place is flooded with genuine stuffs with cheap prices.

  • pcbyte and shopping express are my go-to places for flash memory.

I have bought from mymemory.co.uk in the past but I've no idea what their prices are like considering are terrible exchange rates these days.

    • would MSY be a reputable store to buy from ?

Yes eBay is flooded with fakes.

However if you purchase from eBay using your PayPal account you have protection ie. PayPal will refund you.

The only time I've received fakes from eBay - well two times - is when the deal is just too good to be true so I "knew" I'd be ripped off but just in case since it's 3 bucks or whatever LEL.

    • too good to be true for SD memory cards usually is fake.

don't be fooled by feedback where people say "wow, 32gb micro sd card is awesome" or "card not working". look for the "tested with H2testw - genuine" feedback.

  • There was an aus based eBay seller a few months ago who was selling fakes. Anytime anyone left a neg or neutral feedback stating the cards were fake he'd respond with "buyer is a fraud/fake" or "scam artist buyer" etc. Couple of buyers had said they had used h2test to determine the cards were fake and he responded with flat out denials. The seller had sold so many of these fake SD & USB memory devices that the begs barely put a dent in his seller feedback.

  • ben burnt once and that was enough.

i have purchased my cards from reliable stores and that is that, i cant afford to loose the data on them as it is things that i only have one chance of getting or keeping so i need to be garrenteed that the sd card will work.

i have read over at WP so many threads of sd cards failing and every time it was always purchased online.

all my cards are sandisk 4 32gb cards are class 4s and 1 64gb card class 10 with a few 16gb class 10s and a class for as well…. i had one sd card 32gb in my s3 which got run over by a car and the s3 still works when pluged into a PC (story for another time) and the sd card was still intact and working as it should.

*i do have my cards backed up digitally with all the free cloud storage form OzB but yeh i dont want to loose any data just by a cheap deal gone sour.
