Hi all,
Got a few broken portable UPS units over the years sitting in the shed. Any idea whether it could be repaired without significant cost?
If not, where do I dump them? Just doesn't feel right to dump them into the bin. They're pretty heavy too. Just wanna do the right thing here for the mother earth :) Cheers!
UPDATE: Decided to sell now since there's some interest on gumtree, but mostly peanut offer. The UPS mentioned are EATON 9130, Powershield Defender 1200, and Powershield Compuguard 650. Cost me almost 2k for them all last time, surely they might worth something? Someone on gumtree privately offered me $20 for each, but I have a feeling it could worth a lot more…Just trying to get a fair price for them..;) What you guys reckon …
I give up on metal recyclers…most of them either don't wanna pay anything and still want me to deliver LMAO, or offering like 20c per kg lol
On second thought, maybe it's worth more if I repair it, apparently the failure of UPS is very high, but usually it's just the battery you need to replace. Any idea where I could buy the battery?
I would take them to your local refuse station and put them with the car batteries.
