For those who bought a Sony Bravia at the end of last year or beginning of this year from one of the deals here. Has anyone been able to get the Plex app to work on the tv. When I open the app, it says go to plex.tv/pin and type in this code. Then when I go to the webpage it ask me to log in to Plex. I'm just a little confused in what the app is for then, has anyone got it working?
I believe that you have to purchase a Plex Premium Pass for the app to actually work. I also tried that route you described above a few times before coming to this conclusion, haha. I have just set Plex up as a media server only on my home PC and it works fine streaming movies, pics, and music over Ethernet cable to my Sony TV's.
So in that way u guy have to buy that plex premium pass. Just setup up plex media server then plug Ethernet to ur TV. Open plex with web browser and watch movie that way?
You log into your Plex account on whatever device you are using, go to plex.tv/pin, and enter the code that appears on the TV screen. It should automatically log in, and, as far as I know, doesn't require a PlexPass to operate.
I can't test this, though, as I have only used it with my account, which has a PlexPass.
I did that and it said I need a plex pass, unless you have a way around this?
