Correct. My apologies.
Rainchecks available!
It only supports 3G bands
Yes well what did you expect, i wouldn't expect a 4G device for $5.
Is it free? IF not then it should not be in "Freebie" category.
From memory u only get 1gb with these.
U get 500mb on those Optus $2 sims.
Unless u really need the modem then even at $5 it's not great value.
I saw a Vodafone one at woollies tonight for $15 it said 500mb
$2 for 500mb from optus on a prepaid sim?.. Or are you referring to their $2 per day deal?
From memory u only get 1gb with these.
Nope only 500mb
How much data???
If it's any less than 1GB then this isn't a deal.
Says 500MB on the front of the package. This is really old stock.
Yes, it is a Deal.
It was $19 before!!!!
Does anyone know what the model number of these are? I'm trying to get a bunch (20 or so) of these or the K4606. Not after the kits, just the dongles.
http://shop.vodafone.com.au/broadband-gallery/usb-3g-white?m…
According to what I found from the Vodafone website, this one is the K4203.
Wave of hand "This is not the dongle you are looking for…" "Move along now…" :P
Legend. Thank you!
Why do you need so many of that model?
I have programmed a python class that interfaces with Web app that comes with the Vodafone dongles. It's just nice having the same thing because you know it works.
Does the python script ping 8.8.8.8 to see if you have internet access and take down the 3G interface and bring it back up if you don't :)
@iratepirate: Na, more for sending and receiving SMS.
Yeah no deal for 500mb
I can confirm Burwood, VIC. Has plenty of stock. I can also confirm they have 500MB printed on them.
although kits are 3G if you have a 4G dongle, you can still use the sim, it's what my 8 year old does for mobile data. he decided to become self sufficient when l kept saying " mate…. can't turn on tethering on my phone while driving, you need to wait till we get to a red traffic light" . Seem to be good deals around if you just use the sim for a month and don't recharge. Not as appealing as the Telstra 3GB sim from Australia post for $5.
Prefer the 5$ sims that i have been using for tethering on the unlimited data weekends :)
Not anymore, 11:59pm today will be the end of unlimted data on weekends.
Alas the zero rated traffic would have made a great complement right next to my even older, grandfathered favourites packs. But, if they might shift the Window , I almost could forget the packs and would switch, rather, with everyone else, to flat national voice MMS— as it would effectively x10 my allowance. But only on a bolder, non 'campaign' route if we're going down this path [ 6pm-superhighway:].
are these locked?
Locked to Vodafone that's for sure. I mean why would Vodafone make an unlocked USB prepaid mobile broadband dongle.
well optus ones aren't locked even though they say they are. so you tell me why they do that?
Is this Optus one from a prepaid kit?. Prepaid devices generally are network locked. Some times postpaid broadband internet devices are unlocked but it's different for prepaid.
@hollykryten: are you serious?
Yes. I've never seen Optus nor other carriers make an unlocked out of the box prepaid device.
@hollykryten: I have
@hollykryten:
Holly…. that applies to phones but not modems.
@xywolap: Trewq confirmed it, she was wrong.
I can tell you that they are 100% unlocked.
thank you Trewq
Please note: Not clearance, standard line!!
