Samsung Galaxy Note 5 opinions?

Note 5 has just been announced, I was disappointed, because..

  1. A smaller battery than previous gen WTF

  2. No removable battery WTF WTF

  3. No SD card expansion WTF WTF WTF

  4. Max 64GB internal storage! WTF WTF WTF

  5. Removal of IR Blaster! WTF WTF (Can't control volume at local RSL club or troll people during NRL game)

I have Almost 200GB of storage in my Note 3 (64GB + 128GB card), filled up with various TV shows, Blu-ray movies and Japanese porn. This means I need lots of storage and swapping out batteries as watching Full HD movies burn through battery. I will not be able to do that Note 5!

I will not be getting the Note 5.

If you already have a Note series, will you buy the Note 5 or moving to something else? If you're moving to something else, what will you be getting?

    I knew about the first three but i did not know it has a max 64gb storage

    I think i will keep my Note 3 and maybe upgrade to note 4 if i find one for a good price but will definitely not go to note 5 more so to stick it to Samsung that removing my needed and liked features it not how they will sell phones.

    seriously there is nothing left other then the android OS to stop users going to apple.

    The best news overnight was the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. I'm unsure of how it works on Australian bands, but it's a serious contender for my next phone.

    I can't understand why Samsung has sacrificed so many features just for a better design which is going to be covered by a case. Removable storage, battery, larger battery, bigger displays and customisability are why people used to move from Apple to Samsung. Only customisability is the differentiator now which means people will probably be not prepared to pay a premium for touchwiz. Samsung has essentially shot itself in the foot this year. Previous note owners won't want to upgrade due to the incremental upgrades and iOS users won't move to Samsung due to the similarities. I don't understand who the note 5 is targeted to?

      I think Samsung felt insecure because all the iPhone and HTC fans was teasing how plastic the Galaxy phones felt.

        They could've used good plastic like on the Nexus 5 or OnePlus One but they insisted on using hard cheap shells.

        There does exist a middle ground Samsung!

    No, I will not be getting Note 5 as my Note 3 is still smooth and does everything I needed. I recently bought a LG G Flex2 from T-Dimension to replace my LG G2 and although it does get hot if I open too many apps due to the FireDragon 810 CPU, LG G Flex 2 is a really nice phone. Will wait for Note 6 next year.

    And the best for last, EU market won't get it til 2016 as no release dates are set of them yet, hence we're screwed even if you want a Note 5.

    Yet S6 Edge+ is launching as normal and we shall be able to pre-order in a couple days (same as UK)…

    I have no idea what Samsung is thinking, they digging a hole for themselves

    That's not more than 200GB…

    It definitely sucks that they removed those features to make it thinner and would have preferred to have the same thickness as the Note 4(and not lose any features), but it still does, like the S6 have a top of the line cpu, gpu, ram, storage(UFS 2.0), camera, and display.

    I think Australia will get it sooner than EU.

    Also there may be a 128gb variant, at least that's what it appears to be in US market.

    Either way, the product may turn out better than you think.

    I think they are kind of doing a reverse psychology. We have been getting used to anything bigger and better, now they're lowering the expectation in hope the product will actually do better.

    I've almost come to the point of being anti-Samsung.

    I've had the Note 1, 2, 3 and now the 4. Like the OP, I was WTFing all the way when I heard what they were doing with the Note 5. They have given me no reason to upgrade to the note 5, what am I going to do with my 128GB microSD card which is full of not porn? Swallow it?

    Samsung warranty and CS also leave much to be desired. Have a shot battery that needs getting replaced and will soon see how painful the claim process is, although looking on forums, ozb and on their FB page, their service is horrendous.

    The S6 is already such a flop, and now they're releasing a bigger screened S6 with a pen, complete with the same (non) features of removable battery and storage… I reckon they've really shot themselves in the foot this time.

    Will wait for the Note 6 and see what happens. In the interim, if anyone knows of a phablet with an S-pen that has removable storage, please enlighten.

    You forgot the battery lasts for less than 48hrs. Then again I only use dumbphones. Smartphones are a waste of time and money and are built 100% for watching, recording and controlling you. That octa/hexa core and twin cameras never stop.

    I've owned all 4 previous Notes pretty much day 1 (as soon as I could source one).

    I'm just agape with this. No mention of artists or high end user, a million times worse stream and plenty of minuses to upgrading. It's meant to be an upgrade not a sidegrade at best.

    Surely they mean to offer a pro version in October. I mean, they can't really believe they can underdeliver to that extent and Note fans to still buy it.

    Note fans I know buy every release every year. This definitely won't happen anymore if they continue along this path.

    Never owned note1, but then note2's design caught my eyes, then got 3 and 4 as well.

    I am now so lost cos I am not gonna buy a note5,not because of the grand I spend, it's about teaching Sammy a lesson.

    Looked into HTC, HUAWEI,LG ETC, to me, they are just not good enough. Maybe I will go for the next Lumia flagship
