The code seems very generic, and I could infer the code for next week and make a purchase instantly on the 20th August (unless it has to be clicked to be activated). I've suggested to Soniq that they vary the code for next week's competition so someone else can't use it (or the previous code) before it's used at checkout (given it's valid till December 31st).

Mission Possible: Father's Day $50 Giftcard Hunt
We are giving away one $50 Giftcard each week starting 13th August 2015. A total of four $50 giftcards will be given away. We have hidden a yellow giftbox on the website. If you are the first to find it and click on the box, a pop up window will appear showing the $50 giftcard code. Enter this code in the check out page to receive $50 off towards your next purchase. The giftcard has a minimum spend of $200. One time use only. Giftcard expires on Thursday, 31th December 2015.

Minimum purchase $200, so to get $50 you need to spend $150?
Not much of a competition now is it?
"Prerequisites: Purchase"
(If only there was a Post-requisites option)Soniq doesn't really have anything useful under $50 anyway. One would likely be using this to buy a TV or similar.
It's still a competition, whether you LIKE or use the prize or not is entirely up to you! (Hopefully give it away if the latter option)
LOL yes fair enough. I'm happy to spend money on a Coke to win a holiday, or Add some items to my weekly shopping sometimes, just not sure I'd spend money to basically win a 25% discount or less.
But yes, technically it is a competition. The lines are blurring strongly now though…..
I'm fairly certain I won this weeks, as I found the yellow box ~15 minutes after receiving the email.
It was on this page, if you want to see the opened box / get an idea of what the closed present box looks like.
If you win, make sure you screenshot the code (to prove ownership), or at least write it down so you don't lose it.
