Vinomofo Referral Links No Longer Allowed

Due to an increasing number of issues and incidents related to Vinomofo deals and referrals, we will no longer be allowing Vinomofo referral links within the deal. We had concerns that these issues were taking away from the community/sharing spirit that we wish to uphold on OzBargain and as such this change was made.

Please note that the referral randomiser is still present for Vinomofo. As always with the randomiser: "If the OP of the deal has their own referral code for that merchant, it will show up as the first link in the Referral Block (but only after 25+ votes are received, until then only random referral links will be shown)." The referral randomiser 5 vote minimum ensures that the OP is still rewarded for popular deals.

This is an indefinite ban that begins at the time of this forum post, we may revisit the issue in the near future.

    I think this is a good idea.
    I think just random referrals being shown all the time is the best suggestion.

    Good. Unfortunately greed clouded the judgement of select users on here, and it wrecked it for everyone.

    You need to also block comments linking to previous Vinomofo posts with referrals in the description. Already one of the "select users" is doing it.

      What if those links are to demonstrate that the wine has already been identified by someone else?

        Just mention it. No need to link to an expired deal to make the point.

    This is a positive step but wouldn't it still be just spam if they don't ID the wine from a "black market" deal? Whilst the boys over at Australian Frequent Flyer forum don't like us using their wealth of knowledge (Hi guys, I know you are reading this, thanks for your efforts!), it's not that hard to check there first or do your own research instead of just posting the same link as you got in an email or by visiting the site.
