    • iPhone is much more useful than bottled water ;)

  • If water was bottled by Apple, all the cattle will surely flock this out no matter where or what it was sourced from.

    • Don't say it! We don't want to buy bottled water from Apple and soon Samsung!

    • But, people already do flock to bottled water ;)

  • +1

    Voss water is #1,
I don't bother with mainstream tap water :)

VOSS is just proof that if the marketing is solid, your product doesn't have to be. Good on 'em, I say.

    • +1

People seem to like their bottle and it looks nice. I have no idea why that's a problem for some people.

It's like the argument "You only buy Apple gear because it looks nice." Yeeeees, people generally don't actively seek out the ugliest thing they can buy. If it does the job as well, win/win

      • Nah. The argument is that it's too expensive.
600ml bottle of water is $1 at hungry jacks

        • -1

          Yeah, but I'm not a pleb ;)

        • @Mr Wowtrousers:

Admitting you'd spend alot of money on bottled water is nothing to be proud of, if anything it proves you're a dumbass.

        • @Truthbe:

I don't spend a lot of money on bottled water. It was a joke, mate. Go back to your basement until your mum let's you up for dinner.

  • +1

I know a few people who drink VOSS water. I'm sure they just refill the bottles at home with filtered tap water, but the image is what they crave.

Every time I see someone drinking VOSS I think "there is no present/imminent recession in Australia. Some people still have far too much money"

    VOSS is more expensive than:

    milk
    beer
    wine

All the above have far more value, manufacturing and production effort than a bottle of water.

    • +2

I don't own it for the image. I use the larger bottle at work which I refill with tap water.
I used to use a plastic bottle but I'm concerned about plastic leaching into the water.
The glass bottle is also better for the environment. Disposable plastic bottles takes up landfill space

    • All the above have far more value

      water is life :)

I rather buy 2L of milk for the same $2. Yes the milk bottle can be reused as a drink bottle too.

  • +6

I think there is something fundamentally very wrong with bringing things like water halfway around the world.
    It's just water.
But the cost to the environment is pretty huge, imagine all the handling, transport, fuel involved.

Please consider the food miles involved in your shopping. And buy Australian!

  • +3

They are nice to use as refillable water bottles. Pity they smash so easily when dropped. Can't justify buying another after that.. found a collapsible water bottle for 15c at BigW..now that's a bargain

    • +7

Its glass what do you expect genius.

      • Ever dropped a jam jar? They don't smash.

        • Back to school science for you lol

        • @Robster33: talking about density? Jam jars and the like are made of thicker glass than Voss bottles too.

    This makes me wet

Sorry, I only buy my bottled water here thank you. No deal as taste, saltiness and complexity are not listed.

Thumbs nose at deal and extends pinky finger whilst drinking my expensive bottled water from wanky restaurant

      "Martin Riese, General Manager and
Water Sommelier of Ray’s & Stark Bar,
      has curated a water selection"

Wow I had no idea there was an occupation called "Water Sommelier" LOL

      • There is now because someone just pulled it out of their arse.

  • Australians still buy this? Why can't you catch up with Asia and drink out of polycarbonate bottles. They are served free with coffee, cocktails and other drinks 😎

  • +5

If you could peel the VOSS label off, they'd make for an ok vase.

    • Now that's using your head.

    • You can get something very similar at ikea for about 3-4$

      • but these are $2

clearly you don't understand the purpose of ozbargain on this earth.

    • It's just paint, I imagine a bit of turps and it will come right off.

      • Instructions unclear, swallowed paint. Should I ingest turps to get rid of paint now?

  • +2

    Be a boss. Drink Voss

  • -3

This is the WORST "bargain" ever

  • -1

You know your colleague is pretentious when he/she fills up water using a Voss bottle and walk around the office holding it like a trophy. I think I should just buy a carton of Evian and place it on my desk…

  • I use these bottles for carrying tea in and even cold brewing. A Thermos is a better investment though as is a contigo seal bottle.

  • +1

Even at $2.00 a bottle, its still one of the most expensive liquids one can buy even though it is available for free.

    • Please do tell where water is available for free?!

      • Water fountain in Local parks…there are a dozens in the city.

        • +1

come to think of it….Public toilets too!

        • rainfall if harvested.

        • @gaurav1504:

I get strange looks from people when the fountain starts pouring water after pulling the cable and I'm there leaning in and drinking it…..The cakes in the bottom usually give it a refreshing smell too.

      • Look up, open mouth. Rocking life the ozbargainer way.

  • These have to be the ponciest bottles of water ever invented.

  • At my work a couple of them have it, so i consciously don't have one.

  • This deal to me is akin to someone trying to justify buying a car because the speakers in it are of high quality.

  • They make a good modern vase. Just take the label off.

Also looks stunning with passionfruit, mint, lemon, lime or berries in the water.

If it encourages you to drink water, which I think everyone can do more of, then go for it, make a small investment.

Other nice additions: Ground or fresh lemon myrtle leaves, orange, hibiscus flowers (probably only baby ones would fit).

Also the glass used is likely less porous than amorphous or crystalline plastic, so won't catch fruit or spice additives on the surface, and less smell.

  • Fools and their money are soon parted.
Its how Voss, Apple etc make their millions.

  • Bought one, nice bottle, shit plastic cap, 'water' taste like absolute shit.

  • All this over a bottle of water!

    My God.

  • note that this water is fluride free so your teeth will rot

  • this post is archive worthy
