Only $17.45, Save $32.5 off the RRP.

    What is your normal price?

It doesn't look like you ever sold these for $49.95.

  • Hi JV,
We only got these in for the clearance offer and were only added to the site yesterday and will be removed after this sale most likely.
We have listed the saving off the RRP advised by philips.

    • +2

It is illegal to compare your price to the RRP if you do not normally sell them at RRP.

      https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/prices-receipts/price-disp…

‘savings’ or ‘discount’ statements when compared to the recommended retail price (RRP), but the goods have never been sold at the RRP or the RRP does not reflect a current market price.

      • -2

Wrong. It's not "YOU" that has to have sold them at the rrp. And as that is Phillips rrp, I believe that would be the market price at any small electrical retailer. Ever lived in a country town!

        • Seem you have a problem understanding English…

Misleading prices include ‘savings’ or ‘discount’ statements when compared to the recommended retail price (RRP), but the goods have never been sold at the RRP or the RRP does not reflect a current market price.

          It's on the ACCC website…

          https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/prices-receipts/price-disp…

        • @jv:

but the goods have never been sold at the RRP

"Have never been sold" is not "Have never been sold at RRP BY THE SAME RETAILER"

If the latter, clearance sellers or places like COTD would never be able to list RRP.

          If the former:

        • @KentT:

"Have never been sold" is not "Have never been sold at RRP BY THE SAME RETAILER"

          wrong…

It was even tested in court

The Federal Court and Full Federal Court on appeal found that the Jewellery Group Pty Ltd (Zamel’s) made false or misleading representations
Zamel’s had not sold the item at or near the ‘was’ or ‘strike through’ price, or had sold it in limited numbers at or near that price, in the four months prior to the sale period

        • @jv:
Different situation. Zamel's have Zamel specific products, they're not sold anywhere else.

This deal is a third party product sold at many different retailers - some of which sell at full retail price.

Seems to sell for $30 to $40, at most places, so seems a good price, if needed

    • +1

but misleading to claim "Save $32.5"

  • +2

I think the colour temperature is wrong. 4000K is cool white not warm white. Warm white is 2700-3000K. I don't mind buying some if it is true warm white.

    • +2

might be good if you own a hospital…

    • +1

HI Klim, its in a grey area between what philips classify as warm white / day light. these are closer to cool white than the more traditional yellow warm white colour

      • +1

thanks for the clarification. 4000k is not warm white. Other sellers list the 3000k (identical model) as warm white. They list the 4000k as cool white for the identical product. You need to double check your terminology.
The price is very competitive if it's a true warm white.
I noticed you didn't list these as 60w equivalent (which is what most others seem to do). I suspect your rating of 75w is also an error. I suggest you research these two points carefully.
If I bought these and they turned out to be cool white and 60w equivalent, I'd return them. Just beware that others would have the same view as I do. Misleading advertising does no one any favours.

        • HI Dewatt, most of the guides show that 4k is in the area between Cool white and Warm, Phillips call it "Day Light" i have adjusted the page. Having said that they are not what most people would expect as the more traditional Warm White.

Philips also have a guide here you can look at for a reference point.
          http://www.philips.com.au/e/lighting-makeover/glossary-overv…

        • @ubercar: I have never seen a Philips or any other name brand product at 4000K labelled as warm white. Warm white & Daylight aren't interchangeable terms. Daylight is a colder, bluer looking light.

      • It is not accurate to call these daylight, daylight is typically 5000-6000K and is almost blue.

  • I need to bet myself some Philips Dimmable LEDs but after the ES Bulb ones. Do they make them and if so whats the $

  • Looks a good price for a brand name product.

4000K colour temperature is a good balance between the yellow of normal incandescent (2700-3000K) and the harsh blue white of fluorescent lighting (5000K+).
Eg. The recent Arlec security sensor LED lights were 5700K, which is very harsh and blue white and unpleasant to me.

After getting used to 3500-4000K, normal incandescent feels too yellow.

  • Is there any way to buy 1, test if it works as a replacement to my existing lighting, then buy more if it's fine, without paying shipping twice. Or even returning the light if it's not compatible. Any ideas? Or can I pick them up so save paying for two deliveries?

  • Why is this 'Mini' when it needs 90mm cutout?

  • -3

Rep is claiming these are warm white, website says 4000k, but a colour temperature of 4000k is NOT warm white. But, the model number given by website refers to 3000k temp bulb, but rep is arguing that warm white can be 4000k. Huh. Neg to warn people about misleading product description and specifications.

  • Wow some people are harsh on the Negs. These seem to be selling in several places for over $100 each.
Great price, I just bought 12 to replace my old halogen units.

    • -1

These seem to be selling in several places for over $100 each.

The manufacturer RRP is not even half that. And you don't even know what colour temperature you've purchased. Wow some people have no idea.

  • rep can you please confirm the color temperature, i am after coolwhite as thats my other lights in the house, i dont want warm white, so if its cool white i will buy, also are they comes with the complete kit or do i need to get the driver separately?

  • Does any one have any feedbacks on dealing with these mobs (simply leds)?
Placed an order for a few of these led downlights on Sunday, but still haven't got despatch notice. Sent email asking for order status, no response either. Was planning to get some more led lights for the house but not very impressed with their service so far.
