Adelaide to Toronto sometime late Aug / early Sept?

Just trying to piece together flights that will get me to Toronto cheaply. Anyone know how I could do this for less than 1500?

  • do you have any status with any airlines? how many check in luggage are you bringing?

  • I have about 130k Qantas points.
I should have 100k Velocity points soon. Just need to buy 1000 worth of stuff and pay it off on my new AMEX card.

    • but what about status? ie silver, gold platinum QFF or Velocity

      and also, what dates?

  • 1 bag on the way there but on the way back I intend to bring back my guitar as well.

  • Flexible on dates. End of August/early Sept. departure, return early Oct.

I don't have any significant status with Qantas or Velocity.

I got a cheap flight to toronto by flying via Honolulu with Jetstar then from Honolulu to Toronto with United (I'm specifically flying on the 27th of August, im pretty sure the second leg is still cheap).

Doing that as a return trip will definitely be under $1500 and you get to go to hawaii!

  • Hmm, I must have missed the Jetstar sale. United doesn't seem that cheap but maybe it is because my return date is 1 month later.

Adelaide to Hawaii via Jetstar 976.10
Hawaii to Toronto is 609 USD (>900 Aus).

Ah Adelaide, missed that part.. I am definitely seeing $283AUD HNL>Toronto on the 27th of August.. Unsure about the return, you might need to look up an alternative route on the way back.

  • You sure that isn't 283 USD? It shows up as 362 AUD when I search 1 way Aug. 27

I am looking into 1 way flights now. I might visit my brother in Syndey first and then fly from there.

    399 Syd to Hawaii
    362 Hawaii to Toronto

Unsure of return route. Might go via Europe.

    • 100% sure, look on momondo.com.au

I'm getting 563AUD Adelaide to Honolulu (jetstars website), 283AUD honolulu to Toronto (momondo).

Not as cheap as I first thought it would be, but still probably the cheapest you will find to toronto at such short notice.

  • Ah ok. I was using the United site directly.

This works to get me there. Return is not as cheap via this method. Trying to figure out if I can return via Europe.

    • Cheapest way to get back via europe would be Norwegian air out of New York to a Scandinavian country then from there down to Bangkok then an air asia/jetstar flight back from there.
