I have a 4 sided microplane grater and about 4 months ago I grated a chunk out of my knuckle. It has taken ages to heal and I don't want to repeat the experience. Does anyone have a cut resistant glove they recommend, if so where did you buy it from?
Cut Resistant Gloves for Kitchen

Comments
I've got an attachment for one of my thinner Microplane graters, but I haven't seen anything for the 4 sided version. The problem I had was I was not near the end of the piece of cheese when I grated he knuckle, just holding it wrong and got myself distracted.
I haven't tried it myself but saw something on a cooking show made me go wow.
rather than holding the item with your fingers i saw the chef put it in the middle of his palm and finger tips. and just grate using pressure and resistance.
I would think the palm would be harder to grate?I'm planning to try this technique sometime when i have a reason to grate.
I would be concerned about lack of control causing your hand to slip and then cut yourself on the grater.
Thanks for the link. Do you have any personal experience with them?
Yep..I have sold them in the past but never used them …you can get a Kevlar glove that fits a bit closer to the hand …the chain mesh is mainly for butchers but at that price it's worth a try.
Thanks. Are they easy to clean? Just worried about contamination.
I don't know about gloves, but I believe microplane sell a push attachment to keep your fingers clear. I know I feel I am taking my life in my hands when I get near the end of the parmesan ;-)
I usually just chuck the last little bit in the sauce where it melts away.
