Just picked up my bib. It's not sticky or anything. How do I put it on? I'm a bit lost.

The problem isn't technology, it's cost. Safety pins cost 8c ea from office works. Probably cost $0.001c to produce..
There are proper race belts that are designed to hold these.
Most professionals have the numbers printed on their gear anyway.
I used safety pins when I attended a few a couple of decades ago :)
You attach it to your top with safety pins.
