SanDisk SSD Plus 120GB $59.90 Delivered @ Shopping Express

2190
HARDARSE

Another fabulous deal from Shopping Express, and easily the best delivered price in Australia, if not the world. And if memory serves me, this is the cheapest 120GB SSD ever offered on OzBargain.

Sale is limited to two per customer. Apply coupon HARDARSE at checkout and select your preferred delivery option, which will be deducted from the final price. All stock is shipped from Australia, and should be delivered within 1-2 business days. All the best :)

  • Hi All.
Need advice. I have a lenovo T440. Will this be compatible with my laptop? Also I use my computer mainly for Ms Office, web browsing or watching movies therefore will I notice any improvements?
    Thanks

    • +1

I assume upgrading from an HDD. The main difference you will notice is the startup time when switching to a SSD. So bootup, launching the programs, and also copying movie files.
      Not sure about compatibility sorry.

      • Thanks mate yeah its from HDD.

  • Write Speed pretty slow compared to Samsungs
Seq. Read (up to) 520 MB/s
Seq. Write (up to) 180 MB/s

    • +1

The only difference you'll notice is in the pretty figures benching gives you. Real world experience you will notice no difference.

Also, there's more to speed measurements than just sequential read and write which is what you've quoted.

There's random read/write and random read/write with differing queue depths.
      Also access time.

I'd argue these are more realistic benchmarks to compare too as how many times do you transfer files of more than 1GB that are in sequential blocks?

      • Yup.
Maybe some buy a 120GB SSD based on "Can I fill it in 10min & empty it in 3.5min? Yes? Oh, I need faster"
Like buying a car based on 300KM/H top speed. "But I can drive Melb-Cairns in 10 Hrs!"

    • What samsung model, for anywhere near this price?

  • For smaller (celeron, 11" screen. 500 GB HDD) laptops such as https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/178218, has anyone timed the Windows start up/shut down between the old HD and the new SSD?

    • HDD to SSD will always be huge, especially on slow laptops (even if they are handicapped to SATA2). I've replaced many include an ASUS F202 (11" screen). Never looked back. At this price buy now and be wowed later

  • Its too hard but i will do it LOL .Thanks TA!

  • Thanks TA, I believe I added this 120GB SSD to your 'queue' a few weeks back. Met and exceeded expectations :)

BTW, dunno if anyone noticed but the extra insurance option also comes in at $59.90
Handy for me because the last time I ordered from SE it never turned up.

  • How could this be TA? The Oz dollar is dropping! This can't be possible, how can you get it this cheap?

  • sold out?

  • Mine hasn't shipped yet, I ordered on Saturday.

    Any ideas?

    • Mine is the same, I ordered Friday night. To be fair, this is the first day shipping was possible, however the page for the drive does say "Dispatch from warehouse within 24 hours".. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt today and hope it ships tomorrow, else will do some chasing up with their customer service probably.

      • Update, tracking on mine was updated today, with shipping info that it was sent on Monday :)

  • Got mine today friday 14th august.

I tried to register it at sandisk.com, filled in all the correct details and it states that the serial number is not valid.

I have registered 3 sandisk items before today under my account without problem.

I reckon i know how to register correctly, but the serial number is "invalid"

The page accepted all details except the serial number.

I hope my ssd is not a fake etc…

    hmmmm.

    • We purchased these from Authorized Sandisk supplier in Australia and they carry full local warranty terms, in the event that you met any issues in claiming warranty please get back to us.

      Cheers
      SE

  • Any chance getting this deal again…. im ready to buy.
