  • seems a bit of an odd combo.

Top spec 5th gen i7s don't come in slim and light weight laptops.

My bet is you'll need to buy a small lightweight laptop, and swap out the HDD and put in 16GB of ram. Even then, check it on the kingston or corsair website to make sure they would even take 16GB of sodimm.

Either way, it's going to cost you a fortune.

yeh it does, Dell XPS 13 has an i7 processor and is one of the slimmest laptops on the market.
it's only limited to 8GB memory & 256gb SSD though

      it's $2,299 from Dell

      • Not exactly 'High specced' i7-it's a low power version, only dual core.

        • OP didn't ask for high spec.
          He asked for :
          CPU:Core i7 5th Gen

        • @edwinlin88:

My comment wasn't related to that, I was just stating that you don't get a high specced i7 in a slim laptop.

        • I think the OP didn't clearly specify what he/she wanted. i7 can be from U or Y line, which would be far worse than the normal version. With Core M specified, I am curious on what he requires.

I don't think you have a clue about your cpu requirements. i7 = high end; intel core M is low end.

    Here's a couple options from a US store. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?atclk=Processor+Type_In…

  • How about this one

MacBook Pro 13" with Rentina Display
    5th Gen Core i7 3.1GHz
    16GB 1866MHz LPDDR3
    512GB or 1TB SSD

You should specify what you want more clearly. Core M is like tablet CPU, it's used in fanless laptops or tablets. i7, even if it is from like U or Y line, it would be a decent laptop CPU. That said, if you are looking for a laptop that has a decent processing power, you'd need to look at the mobile version that's not U or Y (is it QM, MQ, H?). If that is the case, I have no clue why you've mentioned Core M.

Slim and light weight with something like what you've mentioned would be hard to find, because 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD sounds seriously like something that'd be on with a really good CPU (and usually those ones are not slim because they require the space for heat dissipation). Also, I am not sure what would be considered slim and light as well, do you mean ones that fall under ultrabook specification?
