Got any coupons for that site?

    • Ah true, I actually ordered the X5C-1… It's good!

  • Was looking to buy one of these last night. Had night shift and got home at 8am, went to sleep. Got up later to see I missed this deal. So disappointed.

The way TA and EC are competing with deals I am sure there will be another deal around the corner soon. My guess is TA is already talking to Gearbest to get this for $30 delivered ;). Get ready to see the coupon code CHOPARSE soon :D

  • Just tried to track my order and realized that it was shipped from Hong Kong, not Sydney as advertised.
Doesn't really bother me, i just wonder how it pays off for them to ship it with DHL for $50.- delivered.

Is anyone else getting the parcel from HK?

    • My status only Paid.

Mine just arrived. It's even the newer model x5c-1

        • Good on you, you must have ordered very early.

        • How do you tell that? Mine just says X5C

        • +1

@Jay43: If the X in X5C on the body of the quad is red, it's the -1 model. There's also a red "2.4G" on the -1.

X5C on the left, X5C-1 on the right

        • @eug:

Sweet. I got the new one!

Thank you very much for your help with that, much appreciated.

        • @eug:

I did a google search some image did say X5C-1 on the box, so I am confused.

          https://www.google.com.au/search?q=syma+x5c-1&espv=2&biw=128…

@superforever: I noticed the box too, but reviewers just point out those design differences on the actual unit.

The other way is to see which button enables the camera. The old model uses the button at the top right, the new model uses the left trim control.

        • @eug:

          OK thanks

  • Mine arrived as well, shipped from HK via DHL. No complaints from me considering it would've taken longer if it was shipped locally.

    • Are you guys ordered during the first round of stock?

      • Yeh bought mine before it sold out the first time.

  • Mine just arrived. It was shipped from Enfield NSW.

I ordered after the second lot of units was put on sale and received an X5C model.

  • I purchased one and it arrived today too. The LCD on the remote does not seem to work - is that normal? Or is my unit DOA?

    • Did u put batteries in the receiver

      • Yes, tried with some Eneloops - helicopter flies but no LCD display :(

  • For anyone that wants a spare battery, this is the cheapest I could find. USD$2.50 delivered - for the next 4 days.

Ok it is AliExpress and it will probably take 2 months to get delivered, but this is OzBargain not OzQuickest

    • Thanks mate.

How do you join up to AliExpress? When I tried to register it asked for verification code.

  • Mine said dispatched 06/08/2015 11:16:20 still hasn't arrived.

    Sydney here.

  • Mine arrived on Friday. Took it for a spin today and was quite impressed with the capability and quality of the item for only $50.

As a bonus, it already came with some test photos of some warehouse (presumably in China).

    • Is it shipped from Sydney, I am still waiting.

      • Yes, from Sydney. Shipped on Tuesday and arrived in Adelaide Friday.

  • Mine arrived and has a problem that it goes to sideways when I only push the throttle lever up. As a result it's almost impossible to fly indoor as it's not easy to stabilize it and keep in one place.
I tried to fix it pressing the two buttons mentioned in the manual. It didn't fix the going sideways issue. Then tried the next instruction in the manual by resetting it to factory default. It get's reset according the manual explains and the way led lights behave. However this didn't fix the issue.
I can only fly it indoors by keep rotating it using the other lever at the same time. Then there is no way to take a photo of anything that i want to aim at.
    What should I do now?

    • pm the rep

      • Who is the rep?

I may wait to see if anyone else gets the same problem and see how it gets resolved. When you buy online it's not easy to get a problem like this can get fixed.

        • Just create a support ticket and see what they say. Also did you try change it to a difference mode?

They are in Silverwater , NSW 2128

          https://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/user_ticket_create.php

        • @superforever: I logged a ticket in their web site yesterday and waiting to see what they say.
Yes I tried all the options including two options mentioned in the user manual to rectify the issue which didn't make any difference.

        • @rmamila:

May be some problem with the motor.

Anything preventing the motors to spin up?

        • @superforever: It has nothing to block the motor as it was behaving this way out from the box. I still keep it in the box. So there's no dust or anything like that to get in the way of the motor.

As you said it could be a problem with one motor which spins slower then the other 3. When you only push the left lever up, it takes off from the ground properly however it pretty much goes in 45 degree up as it goes to one side almost at the same speed.

Still waiting for a reply from shoppingsquare.

        • I have now received a reply for my ticket. It has long list of conditions in returning the products. Drone is going sideways out of the box and I only few it in side and handled gently. So I am 100% sure of the issue as well as the gentle use of the drone. However after reading the list of many different ways they can reject replacing the drone, but just refund the money deducting restocking costs etc and me spending money to send the item back to them I might not get any money back at the end. I don't want to end up getting a refund as it's better to keep the faulty one with me because it can fly by keep it rotating even though I won't be able to use it to full potential. I still have it in the original box and have every single bit came with it as it is. The problem is that they don't guarantee replacing with a new one. The replay says it could be a refurbished one. I have to bear the cost of shipping and restocking. Now I am thinking is it worth even sending this back to them.

        • @rmamila:

Try post your issue here and see if anyone can help.

May be it can be easily fix by replacing the motor.

          They are not that expensive.

          https://www.google.com.au/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=…

        • @superforever: Thanks for the suggestion. Yes that's a good idea.

Have any of you tried to fix this issue before and end up replacing the motors? On this other hand have any of you find issues with the drones bought from this deal. If it's only me it could be my bad luck. I was reading online and found some people had complain on much worst conditions. Some have not taken off at all brand new out of the box. At least my one flies even though it goes sideways like a crab.

        • @rmamila:

Sorry I mean post on whirlpool forgot to post the link.
          http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2403825&r…

I am also new this is my first one.

        • @superforever: I could see the issue with one motor when I carefully looked at it when it starts. One of the motor starts bit late compared to the other three and it rotates slower as well. As you said motors are cheap to replace.
However I managed to learn how to stabilize it by using the other lever as well so that I can almost stop the side movement and keep it stable enough to take a picture.
Until I order a motor and replace it I am going to fly it that way. This is better option than trying to return it to the seller. They might not even have stocks by now. Then I will get a refurbished one with extra cost or refund of money after deductions which wouldn't be much given the very good price I bought it for.

        • @rmamila:

One of my motor always have a bit of problem but after I manually push it to start and it start to spin OK.

When I first turned it on one of the motor won't even spin.

  • Arrived this morning from Silverwater. The box didn't say whether it is upgraded version of not.

So have to open it up to play before I can tell.

    • Seem it is the X5C-1 model which the camera button on the left trim control.

I think you cannot get the old model anymore unless old stock.
