Has anyone dealt with BudgetPC.com.au?

Last Wednesday I ordered 4 HDMI cables that were listed as "In Stock" on their website and I wanted them either Thursday or Friday so I ordered with Express Post. I purposely ordered off a seller in VIC as I am also in VIC and wanted them quickly. By Monday they had not arrived. I sent them an email asking for the tracking number and they didn't reply. Now it is Wednesday again and the cables have still not arrived. What did my extra money for express post pay for? I just sent them another email asking for the tracking number but am not expecting a reply, I just want my cables and maybe a refund for postage since it is taking forever.

Edit: No reply from them, just received an automated message from their system saying the item has been shipped like 5 minutes after sending them a message wondering what the heck is going on. It took them an entire week just to put the cables in the mail!?

  • PayPal dispute to be raising.

    • Well they are sending the item, I just got an email with a tracking number saying it has now been posted. Not sure why there is an entire week lead time for some in-stock cables. Definitely not "express" postage =/

      • I think you should write a complaint to them. Paying for express then not getting shipped for 8 days is pretty poor.

  • I have bought three computers from budget PC and they are really great people.
    I am sure it will just be a communication issue. These guys have done me generous favors and been generally excellent.

    • They ended up refunding the entire postage cost so that's a pretty good outcome. Still will be reluctant to order anything I need quickly though.

  • Have been buying from them since they posted SSD deals back in 2012-2013
    Great staff and Brain especially goes out of his way to be helpful.

    The only thing is the website lists items as "In stock" when in reality they sometimes have to bring it over from the nearby warehouse so there might be half a day to a days delay in having it ready for the customer at the store front.

  • Thanks for the feedback on the guys there being good, I will consider them for future personal purchases but will hold off for business purchases until I can vouch personally for them. I think they most likely thought their supplier had it in stock but the supplier had to backorder for whatever reason, either that or it was just too busy and my order somehow got misplaced. It happens sometimes in business that things don't go to plan. I just looked back in my position with the long delivery time.

    Unfortunately I am not able to update my main post anymore but you can trust the store by the sound of the feedback :)

  • I had a very bad first experience with Budget PC.

    I bought a webcam from Budget PC a bit over a month ago and paid extra for express.
    The price is a lot higher than many other suppliers but on their website they claimed that they had stock in their warehouse I was willing to buy it from here. The order should take a week to send from the warehouse to the shop after payment was received (which I confirmed by calling within the same week). I was very excited for this webcam so I constantly checked their website for the status update which never changed.
    Exactly one month from the date of order I had to contact them again, this time through email, because my order status had never changed, no one has contacted me, nothing. They respond telling me now that they were waiting for the supplier to send them the product which means that they NEVER had stock at the warehouse like the website had claimed and NEVER had the item like I was told on the phone when I called them that first week. I had responded to the email about what I was informed prior and what they were informing me now to which no response.

    Had I had known that I would have had to wait for the supplier I would have ordered a better model, for cheaper from other places who did not lie to me about their stock.
    I waited a total of 6 weeks for my order to arrive.

    TLDR;
    Did I get my item ordered? Yes.
    Was the service good? No, I was lied to about their stock availability.
    Was shipping and delivery time as expected? No, I waited much longer than expected without being contacted or prior notice.
    Was it worth the higher price compared to other online stores? No.
    Would I recommend to other people? Quite the opposite.

    I will be posting this to other review websites.

    I just ordered a PC from them and will reporting back\ on progress, the PC is at a good price but not so much so for it to be too good to be true.
    They have had good reviews in the past.

    • How did your PC order go? After shopping around these guys have a killer deal on an RTX3060 gaming PC I've told a friend to order as his video card has just given up on him and died. He's spoken to them and they claim to have it in stock so we'll see how he goes. Was yours delivered by now?

      • Sorry I didn’t see this message until now. All went well. Great unit, has presented no problems amd I received the unit in about 3 weeks.

    I used to live close to BudgetPC and visited to buy things in person. I worked out that when they say in stock they mean that their supplier has them in stock, not that they have them in their own warehouse.
