  • Great, some good gets here.

The Metro games were great. I recently played Ground Zeros from getting it free on PSN. What a disappointment. It was like 30 minutes and mostly cut scenes.

    • +3

So it was a Metal Gear game then?

      • +1

pretty much lol. As Stingydude below points out it's effectively a demo for the upcoming full game. A single mission that's fairly basic. It's fine for a freebie but I would have been angry if I paid the asking price.

It felt like a glorified demo to me too. Had some replayability through the collectibles and challenges, but wasn't interesting enough to bother with.

    • i rescued that boy and in the middle of rescuing that girl. will the game just finish after snake escapes with the girl?

    • Are you kidding me? 30 mins? lol…more like 5.

      • Including cut scenes.

  • cool

is how to survive any good?

    • If you don't have diablo already it will fill that niche. Although not the same game, I find myself wondering why bother playing it when I can play diablo.

Excellent, I have been thinking up getting the Metro games!

  • +1

Metro: Last Light for Xbox 360 is actually $29.95 so even better!

    • The RRP pricing on the deal is USD. So most of those games will be around the AUD$30 mark.

  • +4

cool. Just realised you can get the xbox one games even if you don't have an xbox one!

    • That's what I've been doing despite not owning an Xbox one. I figure I'll have a list of free games if I ever buy one.

Also, I'm curious to see if the quality of 360 games drop once they start releasing titles that are already backwards compatible.

2 free games with Xbox Gold every month. One before 15th and one after, limited time only.
Most are M, MA games so may not be suitable for kids.
Do not want to waste as expensive to buy.
Used to download the full games in my hard drive.
My 2 cents now is to click download, as soon as loading, click cancel.
So it has a purchase record in the account that you can download again on later for free.

    • I just purchase on the website. I have every single xbox 360 game "owned" but havent turned my 360 on for at least a year :)

    • -2

They are not free, you pay for them with a yearly fee.

      • Tis true but then most people were happy to pay for the live service before free games came with it.

        • +1

Don't feed the troll, the same jackass is in every Xbox thread saying exactly the same thing…

  • Oh wow. Thanks OP

    Deserve to be free..

  • May seen like a dumb question… But since owning a xb1, how can I download x360 games and play them on the xb1? Thanks

    • +1

Developer has to build backward capabilities on the game as per last E3 Xb release.

      • Yeah but how can I still buy them for free on the gold membership?

      • I don't think they even have to do that, its just the licencing issues that Microsoft need to sort out with the developers for each individual game. Theres virtually no work involved in getting 360 games up and running on X1, just legal mumbo jumbo.

        • But how can I purchase them in the online store for free with gold membership, do you need to add the serial of a x360 to purchase them so to speak. Xb1 gold membership games I can dl, just wont let me do x360 gold games

          @Damonator84:

You just need to have logged onto a 360 with your gamer tag. Just once. From then on, you can pick up free Gold 360 games from the Marketplace. When they become backward compatible with X1, they will automatically be added to your download list. Until then, you will not see them on your X1.

        • @aja12:
Thanks for the explano. Awesome stuff, will have to find someone with a x360

        • @Damonator84: You don't need an Xbox 360. You can 'buy' it via the website as well. You wont be able to play them without a 360 or until they become backwards compatible for Xbox One though.

        • @SirFlibbled: Tried via website…wont let me.

  • I find I've been whinging about how no older AA games amke it to PSN. The xbox 360 just got some great ones, so I thought I would post to say this is what I expect once in a while, and it's a great deal.

(Ground zeroes isn't even really a game… more like a demo. The xboxone games list was a fail unfortunately)

Highly recommend Metro Last Light, great single player story.

  • Sweet, was considering getting metal gear the other night too. Wondering if the Metro's will be made backwards compatable in the future….

    • Maybe they will… but I still would recommend getting the remastered versions of both Metro games on xbox one and enjoy them at their finest

      • Hmm…. good point. Have only played the first one, so would like to enjoy them at their finest… tough desicion lol might just get both considering one is free lol

  • Are the games only playable for the 1 month?

    • No, you just need to redeem them before the end of the month and then they're yours.

      • +1

But for Xbox One games you lose them if you don't renew your Xbox One membership.

    PS4 is still better tho

Shouldn't So Many Me be on this list too? https://store.xbox.com/en-AU/Xbox-One/Games/So-Many-Me/59157…

    • That was last month's free game, sometimes they keep one carried over with the new lineup.

      • Oh, ok, thanks. I think you can still get it if you change your region though.
