Sherrin Football $4.95 with Any Medium or Large Meal [McDonald's]

560

Hi Guys,

Starting on the 29th July Maccas will be offering Sherrin Footballs for $4.95 with any meal, I checked around other websites ie, Target and the same similar ball goes for $20 at Target, so I would consider this an alright deal,

The cheapest meal to get would most likely be a medium cheese burger meal, the ball can however be purchased without any meal for $9.95

Balls will be provided (Deflated) Due to safety reasons we aren't allowed to pump up the ball for you in store

  • won't be in Qld, I am guessing Victoria only.
Maccas in other states never support AFL.

I work in a QLD store and can confirm we received boxes of them just last week, so the deal is running in QLD for sure!

Me either! I've been with Maccas for almost 10 Years in QLD and never seen such an offer, sure they do provide vouchers for sport events related in QLD but never Balls!

        • is the ball synthetic rubber or a padded/soft material?

@Gavman: I'll take a photo tomorrow and post it up for you to see + the packaging it comes in

          @Gomo:

A very long time ago (20+ years) Maccas had a "sportsballs" promo (soccer, basketball, football, cricket ball) but these were mini and foam filled.

        • @abc:

I had a mini NRL foam ball which I played with as a kid for about a year. Best maccas toy ever.

    • same in NSW

  • "Mid-sized footy"

    • It definitely isn't the biggest in terms of balls but stores will have displays up so you can see the size before you buy

    These will sell like "Hotcakes"

      Microwaved in packs of three?

      • I don't know about now, but they sure weren't microwaved back 10 years ago!

        • yes they were. Longer than 10 years ago maybe it was a different story

        • I worked at Macca's in 2005 - can confirm, they were Microwaved.

        • @massafiri:

I worked there up to 2004 or 2005 and remember making the batter and cooking them… Must have changed soon after or near when i finished up

        • @s4sep:
Perhaps, I come in around Oct 2005.
I do recall some of the older staff mentioning that the Microwaved Pancakes were new.

  • Whats the equivalent size is this? 1 -5

    • "Mid sized", so probably 3
Also looks, from the pic, rubber. Hope not.

      • Its some soft synthetic and yeah, size 3 :(.

Are you saying 'boo' or 'Boo-urns'?

i wonder how many free balls they will give away at then of the promo

So we'll soon see servo stations (typically near McDonalds) put signage:

    "No pumping of balls allowed"..

Though wouldn't suggest doing so as their PSI is too high

I doubt that these would be actual match-quality balls that Sherrin are famous for but I'm happy to be corrected

I saw AFL drive through sticker promotion in store. I ask the girl where to get the sticker and was told from drive through counter.
Then i drive through and asked for an AFL drive through sticker and was told no such thing.

Anyone know where to get the sticker?

  • "Balls will be provided (Deflated) Due to safety reasons we aren't allowed to pump up the ball for you in store"

I understand, its so damn dangerous pumping up balls, the needle can flick up and BANG your blind - whats that gunna cost us???

I think it's that McDonald's don't want customers throwing balls around in the stores 😂
