Was just at a Brisbane metro store and can confirm they only had 20 of them and there were about 10 people at the Home Ent counter to buy them at about 2 minutes past opening time.
The TV sells for $998 at JB HiFi.

Sony Promotion with PS3 was better adding like $200 more for 40" New Model rather wait when they price drop again boxing day. ;)
I picked one up a little earlier. I've attached a pic with the special promotion box packaging.
It just fit in the back of my car. Box measures 1400x650mm.
Interesting that nowhere on it does it say exclusive to Big W or anything to that effect.
looks cheap the packaging
It could be in a brown cardboard box for all I care haha.
that's what they usually are. big and brown. they actually have color on the box
big brown box is inside the color box
Geelong has heaps, well that store sells the most plasma's/lcd's in the state for BigW. They had around 50 at the start of the day.
Great deal with the Woolies Staff Discount and Salary Sacrifice bringing it down to $850!
DVD's from $2/$5 on Boxing Day and a games start at $5-35, huge home sale, 1000s of cushions from $5, and a VERY good BBQ on sale for $199 from $350 (QV Grill Jamie Durie one)
Since when can you include TV's and video games in salary sacrificing?
they are having it during a special period, December 1st 2009 and February 12th 2010. Max to be sacrificed is $1000, so you not the entire amount, but closer with the 5% off. Stuff that you cant sacrifice is:
-Photo processing and optical consultations*
-WISH Gift cards, pre-paid phone credit and other
pre-paid credit vouchers.
-Any purchase from a hotel, including food and drink.
-Purchase of additional warranties and installation
services.
Quick question: My brother just bought one, and is planning on ebaying the PS3 (as he already has one). But when I left this morning, he couldn't find the blurays. Are they in the PS3 box? In the big box? Or in the TV box?
They are in the PS3 box.
They pretty good price but go to any retailers we can give u these tvs for around 900$ range
I don't quite see the "but"? Unless you can point everyone in the direction of a PS3, 2 blu rays and an hdmi cable for sub-$300.
What about a PS2! ;)
I went to highpoint bigw this morning and as of 9AM, 7 boxes left.
