PC Chair Small Build

Hey guys,

Looking for a new chair office/pc use. I've got a dodgy back so need something with decent support/ergonomics. I tried a few ones at officeworks but all the decentish ones there are way out of my budget (300ish).
I need something for a small build (5'6) as alot of chairs which are too big force me to sit kinda back too much/screws up the ergonomics. Has anyone tried those "gaming chairs" at pccg?

Cheers

  • Ikea?
Check gumtree because sometimes people sell from a bunch bought at auction/closing down sale.. very cheap and sometimes ok quality. You get to try before you buy as well.

I've been using only a swiss/exercise ball for past 6 years for office work and love them.
If anyone does go down that path.. only buy the true anti-burst ones (feels spongy, not hard/shiny)..very important.

I'll be getting a chair soon to swap with the ball every hour or so.. i think it's important to 'change it up' for back health.

    • hmm I think I misread the OP.

I thought, 'but all the decentish ones there are way out of my budget (300ish).' was saying $300 was way out of his budget.. but now I see it may mean his budget is $300 and the OW chairs that are decent are someway beyond that price??

  • I have the AK-Racing chair from a deal a couple of months back, I wouldn't recommend gaming chairs if you need a chair for smaller builds, they're pretty big.

Have you ever considered getting a lumbar support for your chair? I don't think there are any sizes for chairs, it's usually one size fits all right?

  • +1

The DK/AK Racing chairs from PCCASEGEAR are alright for cheap chairs, but they're incredibly overpriced. They have the comfort/build quality level of extremely low-end chairs (e.g. $60-100) but are marked up significantly to the $300-$400 range simply because they market towards "gamers". For $300 I'd recommend either the Markus from IKEA or shopping around for specials on some low-end Herman Miller chairs. I have a feeling the Markus will be too big height wise for you, but I thought I'd recommend it anyway.

  • I've tried lumbar supports but they don't really do it for me.
