What is your experience with Beacon Lighting? We are thinking of buying some things from them (probably about $1000 all up) but noticed the company is really poorly rated on Product Review (http://www.productreview.com.au/p/beacon-lighting.html).
Is their quality really as bad as what some of the reviews say?
Beacon Lighting is not cheap, but I have found their customer service ok. If you are concerned about price, look at http://www.nulighting.com.au/
as if you know what you are looking for, online can be cheaper. As for the review website, do not take it seriously, as there are a lot of false reviews obviously done by competitors, for a great example look at the reviews for Taubman's Endure paint on that website. The product is praised by Choice Magazine, Bunnings and professional painters. For sheer entertainment value, look at the reviews for OzBargain on that website as well. My personal experiences with Beacon Lighting and Taubman's Endure interior ceiling paint have been great. Look up reviews on that website for something that you know is really good, and you will understand what I mean. Beacon Lighting service is as good as the staff in a particular shop, they will check stock at another store, and call them for you to have something put aside, and are generally ok. The quality is pretty variable and lot seems to be heavily marked up China stuff - you can inspect the light fitting in store but when you order it has varied slightly on delivery.
Saying that their warranty service was trouble free (you don't talk to the operator of the store as it goes straight to head office). They even provided their own electrician to re-install the new fitting (which was good as it required two people - about $200).
