  I do not believe so and that the gen8 only accepts ECC ram which this is not unfortunately.
  
  I could be totally wrong of course and perhaps HP have released a firmware that allows desktop non ecc ram to be used? I only have the N54L (previous gen) which accepts either but not the Gen8

  Should do, I'm running a 4GB stick of ValueRam alongside the factory 2GB ECC memory without any issues
