More Utility Retailer Lunacy

Had a small amount owing, high two figures, to AGL for a gas supply. There was an ongoing payment that would have settled the balance in six weeks that they'd been receiving since the beginning of the year.

They decided to start calling me using a computer program which I don't want to deal with. They called 1 to 3 times per day for 15 days at which point I called them and asked them to cease and they refused.

So I called the Ombudsman on Friday and explained the situation and the guy said it's harrassment and it's unreasonable considering the time frame, amount and ongoing payments and he will make sure it stops by Tuesday (yesterday).

Then I rang them today and they tell me my account is frozen and I don't need to pay it.

All I wanted is to not be spammed by a robot LEL.

    … What?! If you don't need to make a payment on your account, you have a nil balance. If you have a nil balance, why is your account frozen.

  • It's frozen due to being in a "resolution process" which I never asked for.

    Apparently this lasts a month presently unless the issue isn't "resolved" which it has been provided they don't call me using a robot again.

    Now ask yourself — would you rather of just paid the $90, or deal with all this administrative nonsense now?

    what are you doing in Ozbargain ? if you don't have $90 to pay for utility. You can't be on Ozbargain buying on impulse.
