I am wanting to replace my current camera and having trouble selling it on gumtree.
JB is selling the camera I want so I was wondering if I could trade in my camera?

No they don't. They do game trade ins and do any other trade ins as far as I know.
Try listing your camera on eBay not gumtree.
Why not gumtree?
gumtree lowballers and people on oil rigs?
What do u mean oil rigs?
@pointless comment: Common scam: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1696818 this has an example.
@Forfiet: oh yeh i knew of those scams. Do they actually pull the scam on items valied under $1k? I can understand trying to skive $1-2k of a $10k + vehicle but a used camera?
@pointless comment: They can usually make new accounts easily so it might depend if the item has value to them….
I had 2 successful Gumtree buyers today! Easy and fast.
You just gotta use common sense and your brain to filter out the scammers. If anything sounds weird, 99% of the time you're not the first to encounter it eg. oil rig buyers, so google it, there's lots of info on Whirlpool.
Also patience with lowballers/timewasters.
Golden rule: Gumtree is for face to face transactions :)
I buy and sell heaps on gumtree, and i ship a lot too. I am surprised that many people are happy to bank transfer up to around $150 in good faith. Others wont take a risk on $20. Not every seller is a scammer, and not every buyer is paranoid. You get a lot of lowballers and people who seem to just want to know if you still have the item, only to never be heard from again but Most people are legit - use your own judgement.
Thanks!
I doubt it but I would suggest lowering your price first on Gumtree before trying trade ins …by lowering your price you would still do better then any trade in price. Check eBay completed listings for an idea of what your camera is selling for.
