Buy One Get One Free: Accessories, Travel Products, Stationery, from $6 to $12 (Delivered) @ Enveloped

Hi, it's me again, the convenient free-delivery store that sell small things in envelops.

There are 6 groups of products for this sales: $6, $7, $8, $9, $12, all listed on one page. Add any two products from the same group and checkout with the group's coupon and see price drop to half.

Note: Use 'View cart' before checkout - if you checkout skipping "View Cart", you don't get the chance to apply coupons.

Hope you enjoy the weekend, and find something you need.

Thanks for suggestions on improvements (e.g. make credit card option clear, emphasize shipping from Queensland etc). I also note down all searches, if you search for something and didn't find it, I would already know you looked for it and try to get them.

No thanks, I don't need any accessories for my Eneloops.

  • All you've done it's doubled the price of products from your previous sales on OzBargain and then called it buy one get one free - that's not how it works!

Thanks for actually went there for the last sales 2 weeks ago. The last (almost 50%) sale was time-limited (3 days) and only cover one category of products (travel). Normally it isn't that cheap. I kept my honesty in the sense that the price reverted right after that sale. You are comparing one sale from another, not comparing normal price to sale, as if I am on sale every day.

Your neg is okay if I didn't revert after the last 3-day sale and simply rename it for this one. But I am allowed to try different sales once in a while right?

Keen eyes would have noticed that even the normal price some of them raised around 1 dollars, this is in response to the new AusPost price adjustment (I always use whole numbers). Actually, it's one of the reasons that motivated me to do BOGOF, because now that envelopes are more expensive, it makes sense to try to stuff more things into them. This sale more or less tests if customers like more quantity, if so I was planning to generally increase the quantity for each package.

I also checked that when I do sales the price is usually not matchable from other Aussie retailers. It's not easy to get that price elsewhere when I am not doing sales.

  • The prices of this stuff in ALL categories is way over the odds.
Even getting two for the price of one is not cheap.
It seems to be smoke and mirrors BS marketing to me.
I haven't negged the OP but I am seriously tempted to.
S/he must know that these are gross mark-ups compared to almost any other site selling identical or similar quality products.
Barely benefit of the doubt this once!

A lot of labour went into the making. I personally tried every product, dumped more than half low quality stuff - the only thing I didn't try myself is the traveller's credit-card-size razor, which my husband tried and disliked - that's why I don't have it for sale. Most product photos are shot by myself in my yard in order to qualify my standard, had to wait for the midday everyday for best light. Product descriptions are rewritten with personal effort. It is new (2 months old) but it's not a mock-up shop. Any time you meet me I can show some 5 products from my belongings and from what I wear.

I also email some of my customers to check if they are okay with the quality. Not everyone replies but whoever replied finds them pleasing. If you are looking at something, tell me so I can send you the free samples.

It takes a lot of courage to say this but I'll try to regain your trust this way: I sent you a private message with a spreadsheet about each stage of cost and each product's competition, showing that sales items are priced at cents profit (not even counting labour cost) and if you can get same-grade products else where (when they are not on sale) at my sales price, you should be buying from ebay overseas dealers / aliexpress / banggood, who cannot ship 1-4 days as I do.

I haven't learned how to BS marketing. Basically I am trying to follow the e-commerce tutorial books and learn the methods. Maybe this one doesn't work but there is no chapter called BS marketing on my book.

    • Some of the items are really good value.

For example the CRKT Eat'N Tool is retail US $7.99 - Eat'N Tool - Spoon, Fork, Bottle Opener, Screwdriver/Pry Tip, Metric Wrenches, Carabiner - http://www.crkt.com/EatN-Tool---Spoon-Fork-Bottle-Opener-Scr…

Amazon sells ONE for US $5.52-$7.90 + delivery - http://www.amazon.com/Columbia-River-Knife-Tool-9100Kc/dp/B0…

Here you get TWO for AU $8.00 delivered - http://www.enveloped.com.au/product/outdoor-multi-tools/

CRKT is a big name in outdoor equipment like this - and their products are not normally discounted to that extent. They are, however, regularly counterfeited, and sold from Chinese suppliers, such as the OP is sourcing from. I'd suggest that with that in mind, plus the fact that the OP is not advertising them as a CRKT product (and simply as a multi tool), indicates that these are fakes.

        • Fair enough, let's see what the store owner says about it as you could very well be correct and they have used stock photos.

        • This one I can answer: I bought one from local Sunday's market (Brisbane Produce Market, Rocklea, QLD, seller not Chinese), and one sample from China's wholesales supplier, with the purpose to tell if they are the same product. I cannot tell any difference from the print to the packing. Actually I bought many product samples from the market after sat there watched how good they sell during market validation; didn't know CRKT before that. Despite the homework, there is a chance what I have is still counterfeit because the market stall's could be fake too, but since I am not an outdoor person, can you send me your address in a private message, so that I can send a free sample to you for validation? It's important knowledge to me too.

On the pricing side, I am selling it at cost level when on sale. I am more interested in what is customer's preference (quantity v.s. price), not making money in the sale.

I also intend to cut the price by finding less known brands who produces high quality stuff but this is a slow process. One and half a month work without weekends and I am able to add only 100 products to the catalogue (50+ products to validate on the queue). But I will be mislead by my assumptions if I start to sell when I have everything possible in envelop size (original idea). The earlier the feedback, the less I am mislead.

  • OP, you might also want to read up on selling rubbish USB chargers that are not certified to Australian standards, particularly after a lady was killed recently by one, and Fair Trading etc are cracking down/raiding sellers of them - http://www.enveloped.com.au/product/usb-charger/

    • Thanks for checking. I found the case of Sheryl Anne Aldeguer from Google following your keywords. It's sad and shouldn't happen.

The product you mentioned is from BOSE (http://www.bose.hk/) made in Taiwan; it is actually the highest-end USB recharger I can find that fits 2cm envelop size limit. The Aussie type can't fit into an envelop but the traveller's type comes with an Aussie converter, when separated, fits an envelop, which is what I sell (converter wasn't photographed yet). But for prudence I took my page down anyway while I study Fair Trading you mentioned.

  • I like this concept but hvae not yet found anything I like enough to buy. I am interested in a screen cleaner sticker for phone or tablet. Basically, a small pad that sticks on the back of your phone, used to quickly wipe the screen.

    • Thanks for speaking out! It's on the queue now, but will take a month before I can select a goood product of this type and put on shelf.

      • Great! Please post or PM me when it is available :)
