    So just so I'm clear, although this is 2.4 amps, it is safe to use on older smartphones and tablets that don't charge at 2.4 amps?

    Is it the case that they will just charge at whatever safe lower speed that they are designed to charge at?

      They will only draw the amount of current that they need. It could be a 100 amp charger and still be fine.

      Qualcomm one has Quick Charge 2.0 while this one doesn't. QC2 is starting to reach a lot more devices now ;)

          Thia one in the post has a max of 2.4a for both, but the Tronsmart one with Qualcomm Quick Charge has a different output and will charge much faster for devices that support it.

    Is this the same physically as the Qualcomm?

    I find the spring behind the contact on the end of the Qualcomm I bought too firm and it pushes the charger out until it only just makes contact. The lightest bump or touch on the USB cable is enough to make it stop charging

      The QC 2.0 will only work with devices compatible with the technology and can charge a 3300mAh battery from 0% to 60% in 30 minutes. If your phone isn't compatible then it will only use 2.1a.

          Yes it will work with any phone.

          This video will show you the difference in charging speeds with QC 2.0 and non-QC chargers.

          Both the S5 and iPhone 6 will charge at 2.1a.
