Bought this for me and my mate once 2 years ago because it was cheap
The "creamy" flavour was quite…weird to say the least…
Also, when mixing/shaking I could never quite get it to fully dissolve and was left with a lumpy protein shake every time - those of you that drink protein shakes will know how bad this is to down
Pretty sure we ended up throwing alot of it away.

Who knows? Maybe they have improved their formula in the last 2 years.

    Hi JTL,

    Thanks for your feedback.

This product now contains half of one percent of soy lecithin (a natural product) to help with mixability. This combined with our blender shaker bottles results in a good clean mix. A much better solution for your body than the artificial gums and flavour enhancers which the average supplement company uses.

We would be happy to send you a sample if your interested in trying us again, just let me know.

    Cheers

I was wondering if I could also get a sample? I've had a similar problem as JTL in the past, not with your brand specifically though.

      • Hi Adamiam,

No problems, to keep your details private send us a message through our contact us page http://www.purenutrition.com.au/contacts/ with your address details and i will organise for one to be posted out to you tomorrow. Do you have a good shaker bottle to mix it up?

        Cheers

        • Thanks Liz, I've sent my details, sorry I took a couple of days.
I actually usually use a blender to mix them, but could definitely give a shaker a go.

For unflavoured, Proteindirect.com.au is cheaper. However, I would go with the strawberry flavoured (extremely good tasting) which is $115 for 5kg or 60 for 2.5kg with $7 flat rate shipping. Also they have a promotion this month and give out a free Blender Bottle worth $7 and a T-shirt worth $10. A much better bargain than this one imo… Link's here btw

I know nothing about protein shakes…….however, what I do know is an 11.5% discount on a $110 bucket of powdered drink could could hardly be described as a "bargain". This sounds like a small retail discount on an ostensibly generic product. ie in the context of this site SPAM.

    Hi Cotdfan69,

    Thanks for your comments.

Protein powder even the unflavoured variety is not all the same, as each is sourced from different countries and manufactured with different techniques. Our Grade AAA whey protein concentrate is 100% Australian whey protein concentrate derived from Australian milk and is manufactured by cold process ultra filtration (UF) and diafiltration, so comparing to protein direct's US product is not comparing apples with apples. Further, our product comes in a resealable container made from recycled plastic which we feel is much more manageable to transport, store and obtain servings from, unfortunately it is several dollars more expensive than a plastic bag.

Ash2000, if you know nothing about protein powders please don't comment on whether our products are generic or are being offered at a bargain price. Our high quality products are already much cheaper than their retail store counterparts, so a 11.5% is a large saving.

    Cheers

    • Not sure there is enough info for an apples to apples comparison and not sure why US is so inferior to Oz. Sounds like a case of my whey or the highway.

      • Hi Garglebutt,

I am not stating that all US protein is inferior, what i was trying to get across was that comparing unflavoured whey protein concentrate on price alone does not make for a fair comparison. This even extends to protein from within Australia, as different manufacturers utilise differing techniques to extract the whey from diary. Pure Nutrition, as already mentioned utilising cold process ultra filtration (UF) and diafiltration, which we believe guarantees high levels of undenatured protein and Branch Chain Amino Acids (BCAA's), while maintaining excellent levels of serum albumin and lactoferrin.

I hope this clears up what i was trying to convey.

        Cheers
