I have seen this more than often. Do people think that because some of the chains have daily/frequent % off, it reduces the effect? Why does 10% on cement or wood is more important than clothing and food?
10% off Masters gets lots of likes but 10% off JB/DS/BigW/Target or others doesn't. Why?

10% off a purchase >$500 is a significant saving. 20% off dvd/bluray not so much, especially when we pay more locally than we would for import stuff.
With Masters, especially with appliances and major tools, the purchase price can easily go over $1000. Now with 10% discount, and a further 5% from pre-purchased gift cards, it's a significant saving.Basically repeated myself twice but anyway it's all relative to purchase price. Same with any deal on here. Noones going to care about 10% off an app for example
Good point. But 10% or 14% off computers can make difference if the discount is not bringing the price down to normal prices. I think the practice of increasing the price by 20% and then giving 14% off puts people off.

Simple fact is that with DS in particular, they're only the cheapest about 1% of the time. The other 99% of the time there's competitors offering cheaper prices. There's usually a few stand-out deals, which do make front page, but that's all.
With hardware and appliances, it's not often you see a blanket 'X%' off deal, so when it comes around, suddenly you feel the urge to buy something ;)
Can confirm. My two Masters garden sheds would cost me $1000 but a 20% off that during the big eBay sale is a $200 dollar saving.
We also know that the value of tech related products depreciate pretty quickly and it's everyone's expectations they go on clearance sooner or later when they become obsolete. But building materials and tools don't depreciate and never go out of fashion, and are usually pretty pricey.
Are those sheds assembled yet?
Yep :) Took me nearly 5 days to complete it.
Out of topic but doesn't shed need council approval? Or is more than certain size requires approval.
According to the Building Regulation 2006, you do not need building approval if your shed is no more than 10 square metres in area after building work is completed
no more than 2.4 metres high (with an 'average mean height' of no more than 2.1 metres)
no longer than 5 metres along any side.
Masters sell more than just cement and wood.
