I keep getting telemarketing calls on my mobile phone. It has an option to block/reject the number. I've "blocked" several numbers, but the phone still rings as if they're not blocked. Does anyone know why!?

Thanks, I'll note that for later. Current phone is really basic so it doesn't run apps.
Suggestion 1: Checked that you've set your phone to blocking calls from callers who are on the blocked list.
Suggestion 2: Register your number on the do not call register.
Suggestion 3: Answer the calls and tell them to stop calling.
Suggestion 4: Check your communication settings for companies that you have accounts with (e.g. banks, utilities, reward clubs, etc).Looked for something like this before, but no such setting in the phone. :-(
Done that, but I entered a competition (linked on this site), and started getting calls again. (Before anyone asks, I don't remember which one - but I think it's more than one - because the calls stopped, then I entered another comp and they started up again from a different number.)
Might have to try this. But I looked the numbers up online and many of the comments say they just keep calling anyway.
Yeah, it's from that competition link. Calls started the same day I entered it, after getting none for months.
Just have to buy a better phone that really does block I guess.
I'd also received calls after entering competition in the past. Like you, I Googled the numbers too. They kept calling (day after day) until I finally answered, asked what they wanted, told them I wasn't interested and then they stopped calling. (Think about it, there's no point for them to waste time calling someone who aren't gonna give them what they want anyway.)
