Facebook comp, they went to a couple of workplaces with icecream. Work in a dealership, so we have about 50 staff, told them that and they still came through with the goods :)

Can someone explain why Ben & Jerry's is so gritty? I had 2 tubs a few weeks back and it tasted ok but the texture was not as nice as Sara Lee or other premium ice creams.

I don't find the icecream itself gritty, I think it has more mix ins which might be what you're getting - maybe just stick to plain flavours e.g. chocolate and vanilla?
Not complaining about it being free, just not going to go out of my way to get it considering past experience.
We had 2 different flavours and it was definitely not the mix-ins making it gritty.
Sure it hadn't warmed too much and been refrozen? That's what usually makes icecream 'gritty'.
I hope there won't be some d*** on Facebook telling us to go to the wrong end of Perth City this time…

In Brisbane they were handing them out by the trays (8pack) offering between 1 to 4 trays per person.

tip from the brissy one from what i saw: dress for an office job and have a work pass. ask if you can grab some for work. they were giving people in front of me TRAYS! somone had 3-4 trays. I had boardies and a tshirt so don't think they'd have beleived me if i tried lol ;)
Everyone in brissy was getting trays, regardless of dress code. They eventually created a second line for single tubs only, but the main line was for multiple trays
really? i just took 2 i assumed the trays were for work people…damn.
I'll bring a lanyard, but there's an ice-cream scoop's chance in hell that I'll wear a suit!

I heard at the Brisbane one a few weeks back, despite there being a queue, they were handing out cartons of tubs. Someone got six cartons!!??? So people end of queue missed out. Can't figure why they handed out multiple cartons.

Address not strictly correct. The truck is on Bourke Street nearer Hardware lane (between Elizabeth and Queen). It's opposite the Mcdonald's. Queue wasn't very long but suspect it will get longer for the lunch run. Only 1 flavour - Couch Potato. They will give out other flavours later - Clusterluff.
Reading on facebook, they have run out. They have also said
"Ben & Jerry's How long we stay largely depends on how many of our scooper fans turn up! We are looking to give away at multiple locations throughout the day, and we'll keep our fans up-to-date, so stay tuned…"
so there may be more opportunities. People were allowed to take slabs if they could carry them :O
Latest update is that they have decided to stay at the location (opposite the Mcdonald's on Hardware Lane), but they are running low.

They were in the CBD last time, and later moved to Surry Hills. They might move to the CBD again, hopefully.

There were lots of people catching the train from Wynyard to North Sydney, grabbing ice cream and then catching the train back while trying to hack into the tube with our plastic spoons. All up, took less than 30mins from Martin Place return, plus I got a cheap opal trip to count towards my 8 trips for the week.
I did too, but my 8 trips were all done by Tuesday. :P
yeah I just didn't expect that north sydney would be their last stop :(
Stoked, managed to get two tubs!
Got off at North Sydney then had to run the 4.5km home. Tubs weren't even close to melting when I got home, no idea how anyone managed to eat them straight away with those plastic spoons.
