Just received an S6 as a gift. Really happy, love the phone.
Only issue I'm having is that i receive very few bars on 4G. A friend of mine has said its because it's not Australia stock (kogan). Is that true? I mean it works, just that i receive 1 or 2 bars when its on 4g.

Similar here, Voda 4G and it's never more than 2 bars even I am in CBD area. Still fast tho :)

Like it will be 1-2 bars or even less sometimes (like none) but soon as i receive a call, it goes full bars.
When you make a call you would be transferring to 3G, hence the full bars.
I have a Galaxy S5 on Telstra (and bought from them) and I get 4 bars at home (which is right across the road from a cell tower), but in some other locations in the Adelaide suburbs, I only get 2 bars, although it still works fine, just like yours.
I suspect it's just a quirk of how they measure the signal strength and has nothing to do with whether it's Australian stock or not.
