I have a $50 voucher on eBay I want to use (valid until the end of the month) and need to get a new hard drive for my media centre PC to use with Plex. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Anywhere from 2TB to 6TB would be great!

Seagate 3tb drives have a horrible reputation. Mine failed after maybe 12 months.

Either get another brand if you want 3TB or skip it and go for the 4TB+ models
Strange because I have a Seagate 1TB that I've been using since 2011 with no problems at all.
It's only the 3tb specifically that are prone to failure so that's why your 1tb one is fine.
Any of the mainstream brands will do you fine, just not Seagate 3tb ones :)

Seagate are CHEAP lately. My absolute last preference, but I still buy. No-one-drive should be trusted for important stuff. BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP.

A lot of literature on the internet seems to suggest that 3TB drives have the highest failure rates.
As per Lifehacker and Backblaze.
I currently have a WD30EFRX (WD REd 3TB) drive, sitting at around 139 days of power on time and so far it hasn't failed (touch wood)!. However if you want piece of mind I would probably suggest going with either multiples of 2TB drives or a 4Tb+ one.
